Position: Buyer
Reports to: General Manager
Position summary:
Recruit, develop and qualify suppliers for building industrial systems of drying and evaporating. Purchase evaporator vessels, dryer chambers and various buyout equipment in accordance with Dedert specifications.
Duties and Responsibilities:
？ Recruit, develop, qualify and manage suppliers, keep close communication with them
？ Purchase industrial components, including heat exchangers, ducts, pumps, valves and integrated system, etc. for Dedert projects worldwide against established budget
？ Assist to prepare tenders, help make competitive bid prices based on procurement costs
？ Facilitate and drive suppliers for continuous improvement according to Dedert standards
？ Monitor national and international market costs to bring new suppliers and reduce procurement costs
？ Work closely with the technical teams at Dedert to ensure accuracy of equipment specifications
？ Establish and maintain supplier management system
？ Business travel required (about 30%).
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
？ Bachelor degree in industrial engineering or related fields
？ Five (5) years of work experience in industrial systems of drying and evaporating
？ Fluent verbal and written communications skills in Chinese and English
？ Ability to read and understand designs of dryers and evaporators
？ Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet and AutoCAD applications
？ Strong negotiating ability and tactics
？ Effective communication skills to foster understanding among all people involved
？ Capable of performing supplier audit and creating a “gap analysis" to support new vendor qualification, continuous improvement, and problem resolution
？ Experience in managing detailed cost breakdowns and creation of cost models
？ Proven success in managing accountability to uphold timing commitments
？ Proactive mentality and ability to foresee potential issues to help mitigate risks

？ Dedert supports the employee in obtaining one-the-job training within the company or attending relevant courses at a university in China if needed.
