Job Objective:

The Application Engineer is responsible for interfacing with customers and prospects to find solutions to new belt drive / roller applications and to apply existing products to applications on a case by case basis. The focus of this process will be a complete understanding of the customer's application and requirements and the ability to properly apply Fenner Precision capabilities to find the best solution.

Responsibilities:

· Convey product technical requirements to mechanical engineering team members internally and within the customers engineering teams

· Travel to Fenner Precision manufacturing locations (UK, US) 1-2 times per year for initial and ongoing training and to customer locations throughout China as needed

· Work within pre-established, product development guidelines and instructions to perform the task required

· Collaborate with Fenner Precision staff members in the design and development of belt drive and roller applications

· Interpret customer performance requirements and develop optimum price and performance products

· Be able to discuss with a high degree of accuracy a customer's requirements and be able to give recommendations on products, their design and performance

· Exercise diplomacy in resolving conflicting customer performance expectations

· Assist in internal test and R&D efforts

· Lead or assist in the development of technical white papers / case studies, etc.

Qualifications/Experience

3-5 years of experience in similar role
Flexible and able to regularly travel within China
Minimum of Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar
Experience in office equipment, ATM or power transmission would be a benefit
Clear, respective and effective oral and written communications skills in English and Chinese
Knowledge of Lean product development
High results-driven attitude
Able to create CAD drawings
Able to work with minimal supervision
Strong English communication skill, written and verbal
Self-motivated and team player
