GENERAL DESCRIPTION / JOB PURPOSE
This position's role is to provide general administration and support for CST’s global network infrastructure. Duties include monitoring, analysis, change management, maintenance, and upgrade support while minimizing down time and ensuring optimal LAN / WAN network performance. Due to a diverse environment the candidate needs to be a quick learner able to pick up basic level 1 & 2 support skills for a network environment. The position requires technical skills and aptitude in diagnosing, troubleshooting and supporting Cisco network devices, Microsoft Windows O/S, TCP/IP, Client/Server networked environment and basic Operations knowledge. As the liaison to the user community the candidate must have excellent interpersonal skills, verbal communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with the other IT team members to resolve work orders in a timely manner. Must excel in multitasking, be a quick learner, self-sufficient and follow through on tasks to completion, in a high volume work driven environment.

FUNCTIONAL ORGANIZATION STRUCTURE
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Specific Data Center responsibilities include:
1. Support of network infrastructure components. This includes network switches, routers, WAN connectivity, remote access, IDS, WAN Accelerators, and security appliances regionally and globally.
2. Regularly communicate with internal and external customers regarding status of service implementation efforts, helpdesk tickets, and network health issues.
3. Completes, Maintain, and compiles network documentation including diagrams, maps, configuration, reports of failures and repairs, etc.
4. Identify sources and trends of recurring technical problems to prevent future occurrences.
5. Propose new standards to anticipate or meet the needs of the enterprise.
6. Conduct technical response to significant network events and situations.
7. Ensure highest level of support for all customers measured by metrics and service levels.
8. Help develop and implement Disaster Recovery Plan and Business Continuity Plan for CST and its business units.
9. Manage single small scale projects
10. Work with IT Infrastructure team to develop, plan, and deploy security systems and network solutions; Active Directory, (antivirus, SPAM, Intrusion Detection systems, firewalls, VPN management, TCP/IP, router security, encryption) for CST and its business units.
11. User setup and security access administration for network and key systems.
12. Manages network systems and associated logging history.
13. Assign Helpdesk requests to the appropriate resources.
14. Level 2 Help Desk problem resolution.
15. Assists in answering Help Desk calls as requested.
16. May interact with vendor representatives.

WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
1. 5+ years' work experience in IT function, 3+ years of direct work experience in LAN and WAN environment with an emphasis on routers, switches, firewalls, and related communication equipment.
2. Systems administrations (add/delete users, assign/modify profiles).
3. Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNA / CCNP) certification holder or in progress preferred.
4. Experience in supporting Network Security Architectures such as Firewalls, VPN, proxy services, encryption, and IDS solutions.
5. Strong knowledge of IP-based protocols.
6. Knowledge of DNS services and MS networking (TCP/IP, WINS, DHCP, SNMP).
7. Windows 7/2003/2008/2012 networking and administration, network switch and network equipment.
8. Proven track record of globalizing services and support.

COMPETENCIES REQUIREMENTS
1. Excellent communication, interpersonal and troubleshooting skills.
2. Ability to work on-call nights and weekends as required.
3. Ability to work non-standard work week in response to WAN/LAN and Data Center requirements.
4. Individual should be business oriented, self-motivated, inquisitive and highly creative.

EDUCATION/SKILLS REQUIREMENTS
1. BS/BA Degree in Computer Science or a combination of education and equivalent experience
2. Requires excellent PC skills and overall systems knowledge.
