Summary
This position is currently a contract position with the length of the contract as TBD. Based in Shanghai, China the Manager, Experiential Marketing is the local JMI representation to/for a client experiential tour. The role requires day to day management of a third party tour activation company; based on the goals, objectives, and standards of the client. Significant face to face and written communication with the client is required.
The Manager, Experiential Marketing is exposed to all aspects of JMI’s services, capabilities, culture, standards, and business model. The role will also be provided with in-depth information on JMI’s marketplace and motorsports marketing business. Additional training and career mapping is ongoing.
The role is responsible for successfully managing client and vendor relationships at all steps. Additionally, the role is accountable for managing all third party staff to ensure consistent and appropriate brand representation at all times. It is further critical that the role remain current with the ever changing agency environment in particular that of the insurance and road safety/transportation industries. Extensive local travel is required.
Roles, Responsibilities,Expectations
Client and Program Management
Accountability of the day to day execution of the experiential tour
Implementation and execution of new program elements/additives
Collaborate with onsite representatives (client, vendor, etc.)
Create / Manages real-time project management tracker in program management software.
Work cooperatively as a part of the Client Services department and participate in all meetings with the other members of the account team.
Requires video conferencing and after hours meetings.
Accountable for providing feedback / data for reporting.
Inventory management and procurement (promotional items, signage, equipment, etc.)
Be a partner in the documentation and sharing of best practices
Responsible for completing tasks of maintaining visual documentation (photography, videography)
Capture and analysis of competitor / client activations
Aid in the execution of daily activation logistics of the tour
Ensuring program objectives are attained
Tour Partner support and management
Tour activation company relationship owner
Brand Ambassador objective, appearance, expectations owner
Contributes to initiatives on program build outs
Develop and contribute to the ideation of experiential marketing programs including improvements to the experiential tour
Operations Management
Accountable for and provides appropriate feedback to the Director, Experiential Marketing and client brand team on the following:
Logistics
Budget Management
Reporting output and compliance
Staffing
Third party implementation of Brand Ambassadors hiring and placement
Incremental program staffing
Ensure team members (Internal and third party) are working with all of the appropriate information and direction
Industry and Vendor Client CRM
Equipment Management
Including tour partner contributions
Fiscal control
Accountable for ensuring budget compliance
Responsible for internal financial system approvals
Creative Development
Adhering to client brand guidelines
Submission through approval and implementation of all creative
Support the account team on the following:
Reporting
Annual game planning initiatives

Experience and Education Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
Minimum 3 years in logistics management.
Minimum 5 years in experiential or sponsorship activation programs.
Proven results via a minimum of 2 years in a fast paced environment
Advanced Skills in MS Office Programs including – Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Advanced understanding of data capture hardware/software
Desire and willingness to travel extensively
Both Chinese and English CV are required.
