GENERAL POSITION OVERALL: -
This position works in the department of public relations in the company. SOC seeks a candidates with the appropriate resources to develop and implement a public relations strategy.
The staff will possess excellent speaking and writing skills in both English and Chinese, and be very familiar with the current media environment in China.
Demonstrated abilities and excellence in communication skills, time management, and the use of developing communication technology will be highly regarded. Knowledge of consumer trends and behaviour, and application of this to strategy, will also be well regarded.
Ideally the candidates will possess all or many of the following attributes: over five years PR experience, current or previous tourism or international clients; demonstrated consistency in client representation; and positive relationships with relevant trade and consumer media contacts.
The Public Relations Manager is expected to have the following qualities:
Online marketing:
- Strong knowledge of social media and digital marketing platforms
- Ability to execute promotional plans in the digital market
- Good relations with the digital media in China
- Good writing skills for blogs, microblogs and other web content
- Experience in development plans for web promotion
Traditional PR:
- Strong knowledge of the media and communications industry in China
- Have an extensive network with media outlets
- Ability to write press releases, communication collaterals, web content, blog content, and other publicity materials
- Knowledge of developing media plan, market strategy and presentation to foreign clients
- Ability to work independently under deadline pressure with strong skills to prioritize work orders
- Experience in working with foreign clients in a PR firm environment (fast pace and changing environment) is a plus
- Knowledge of crisis management PR

- A team player who can work with staff globally and is committed to put our company and clients' interest as the first priority
Duties and Responsibilities
- Client Service
- Develop and maintain local media relationships
- Actively involved in representing clients to the traditional and web media.
- Create valuable and consistent media coverage by developing news stories and distributing clients' media statements; pitch for media interviews; encourage media interest in clients' marketing programs and public events; assist in writing speeches and web content, handling media inquires, organizing press conference/media briefing, developing agenda etc.
- Develop media and online marketing plans
- Demonstrate clear understanding and interest in client's business and the work our company provides.
- Identify, understand and resolve client issues.
- Earn clients trust by continually meeting deadlines; being a proven advisor and always being strategic.
- Ensure that client is briefed on all relevant account activity including status of budget.
- Demonstrate creative and detailed strategic thinking.
- Improves existing communications practices and generates new communications opportunities.
- Assist in other tasks in the company when necessary (team spirit is a must)
Corporate promotion
Promotes our company as appropriate, including identification of relevant opportunities to publicize/promote current accounts and activities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor degree or above in communications, journalism, marketing, tourism/hospitality or related field
- Minimum of 3 years of PR management and execution experience in the travel and tourism industry preferred
- Proven ability to: write and edit documents , present to clients , develop and implement communication programs, client management, product positioning, pitching stories to the media, budget responsibility
- Has a strong understanding of what motivates the media and how to deal with the media
- Good command of English in oral and writing is a must
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage all work for self and coworkers
