FUNCTION/TASKS:

~ The ultimate objective being to ensure our sampling and orders are shipped on time, in the right quality and for best possible price
> Follows up with team for production and sampling status
> Interacts with customers/suppliers regarding order confirmation, update on order and sampling and production status and
other related queries
> As well as lead team of merchandisers, organize priorities, organize tracking of orders, process and performance, supplier
sourcing decisions

~ Create and enhance long-term business relationships with suppliers to maximize business growth and opportunities.
~ Work closely with headquarters to achieve purchasing targets and cost saving
~ Responsible for maintaining effective customer service standards
~ Coordinates seasonal product development process for customized and new product development between designers/development team and merchandising team

REQUIREMENTS/EXPERIENCE:
~ At least 5 to 10 years merchandising experience in textile or similar categories, ideally experienced in fashion textile procurement
~ Well trained in previous experiences of a global sourcing office, brand buying office, buying agent or trader.
~ Good exposure in an international business environment. Experienced in business with foreign companies and different
cultures. Understands different working and business cultures
~ Experience working with overseas companies (South America preferred) / buying office
~ Very detail oriented and well experienced in production and sampling merchandising
~ Able to build and groom the team, strong leadership and team work spirit
~ Have strong knits, and woven products apparel sourcing network / supplier database
~ Actively involved in direct factories sourcing and negotiation, assists buyer in getting the most adequate products and best
prices for the group
~ Good at interpersonal communication skills and well coordination with buyer's vendors
~ Able to handle stress under pressure to manage and develop business exceeding target
~ Excellent written and spoken English
~ Being service minded, proactive/takes own initiatives
~ Positive thinking and aggressive attitude

ADDITIONAL COMPETENCE:
~ Knowledgeable of costing, product safety requirements, textile raw material and finishing goods production and processes, packaging, QA and compliance.
~ Good coordination and cooperation with internal and external parties for projects and demonstrated problem solving experience
~ Strong track record and method in locating the best areas/suppliers to produce and manufacture textile items bearing in mind the minimum factory technical requirements
~ Excellent in developing a strong portfolio of vendors to support business growth
~ Highly utilized and effective negotiation skills to satisfy the interests of multiple parties to maximize the cost savings and company benefit
~ Demonstrated adaptability and flexibility to fit new and unusual situations to achieve business goals
~ Effective methods for delivering qualified customer service

EDUCATION:
~ Bachelor degree in engineering, trading, business, supply chain, English, etc.

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE:
~ Intermediate computer skills; office applications, ERP or management tracking systems
~ Good command of English skills both in verbal and written form, used to working in an English speaking environment
~ Experience and understanding of KPI (key performance indicators) and employee performance tracking systems
~ Work in textile and/or fashion industry with experience focused on production/purchasing
~ Spanish language ability will be greatly valued
