1. OVERALL PURPOSE OF JOB 岗位目的

Test Engineer is responsible for the provision of In-Circuit and Functional test equipment that satisfy technical, quality and commercial needs of the business.

2. MAJOR RESPONSIBILIES主要职责

- Support development of cost effective product test strategy, in conjunction with Quality, MSE, Manufacturing, Engineering and Estimating departments, that are appropriate to a product design, its safety integrity, application, environment and manufacturing processes employed to achieve a superior quality, manufacturable product.

- Prepare test equipment quotations based on agreed test strategies and specifications where available, and recommend method of sourcing of equipment - in-house design, build or contracted out.

- Produce test equipment specifications ensuring optimum test performance, minimum test times, commonality of design where possible while satisfying accuracy, HS&E, reliability, maintainability, usability, flexibility requirements.

- In collaboration with Engineering, develop efficient and effective test specifications with due regard of failure/OE/Warranty data and ‘lessons learnt’ on other products.

- Design, build and commission equipment to the highest possible standard, with support from other engineers and/or outside contract resource as applicable to a project.

- Prepare technical equipment manual/design file to include equipment drawings, specifications, records of all major design decisions, test results and change requests/authority etc.

- Write test software (typically C, C++, Lab Windows CVI) to a good standard employing best practice principles ensuring integrity of the test system and of the product.

- Produce and maintain test equipment project timing plans, cost tracking etc. ensuring adherence to agreed cost and timing objectives.

- Liaise with Managers plus other team members to ensure a smooth new product introduction process following the company PIM procedures.

- Validate and obtain approval/sign-off of test equipment in accordance with department/company procedures and ‘best practice’ with documentation covering (as appropriate):

a. Calibration routines

b. Measurement System Analysis (MSA / R&R)

c. Risk Assessment

d. Maintenance schedule

e. Recommended spares.

3. KEY COMPETENCIES资格能力要求

- Bilingual in Chinese and English.

- Good electronics and software skills.

- Technical automotive electronics knowledge desirable.

- Software skills, typically C, C++, Lab Windows CVI, to a good standard employing best practice principles and ensuring integrity.

- Knowledge of In-Circuit Test, Functional Test, Advanced Technology Engine platforms including GPIB, PCB etc.

- Understanding of Statistical data for Gage R&R.

4. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE教育及经验要求

- Educational: Bachelor degree in Electronics Engineering or equivalent academic credentials.

- Experience: 1-3 years experience in Automotive Electronics Manufacturing Test.
