Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate structural construction activity, monitor and review contractor's work as to compliance, schedule and quality.
• Review and approve work method statements proposed by contractors/suppliers
• Chair weekly progress meeting with General Contractors/Suppliers
• Review Structural construction drawings in ensuring that they are fully coordinated with architectural/MEP/interior/landscaping drawings. Report and resolve any discrepancy with the designers.
• Project scheduling, coordination and monitoring.
• Manage and monitor activities and performance of Jian Li
• Contract administration; coordination of contract execution; monitor contract correspondence and provide appropriate input to protect owner against potential claims; management of claims avoidance activities
• Manage documentation control, maintain project historical records, maintain and monitor the progress of the punch list compilation and rectification
• Coordinate construction activities and provide organized documentation at project completion.
• Act as a team member with all Hines staff.
• Comply with all Hines policies and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and codes, and Hines standards.
• Encourage a safe working environment
• Maintain ethical, professional, and courteous relations with Jian Li, consultants, contractors， subcontractors, and authorities.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Head of Construction.

Requirements

• Ability to detect emergency alarms - auditory and/or visual
• Ability to meet highest attendance requirements; Weekend and overtime attendance will be required.

• Minimum 12 to 20 years working experience in similar industry, with design institute and general contractor background, of which minimum of 3 to 5 years working in similar capacity as a Construction Manager for a real estate developer in overseeing the construction of sizeable high quality high-rise project in China, from start to completion.
• Experience in the construction supervision of piling, strong capacity of handling structural and other construction technical issues.
• Good knowledge of architectural/building services (MEP), interior decoration and landscaping
• Fluent in English and Mandarin (verbal or written) is a plus, but not a must.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a good team leader/player.
• Ability to work independently with a minimum oversight.
• Possess the highest degree of integrity.
• Ability to manage a variety of tasks within a tight time schedule.
• University degree in building (civil, structural)
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point , MS Project, AutoCAD and other software
