Pactics Shanghai, www.pactics.com, is world leader in development and production of premium packaging products, mainly for eye-wear. Think of the colorful protective bags and cleaning cloths that come with every fancy pair of sunglasses. The center of activity is in Shanghai, and we also have a production facility in Cambodia. Pactics employs over 300 people worldwide and has about 150 people working in Shanghai. The company is privately owned and has western management. It’s a relatively young company, which until now has been run as a start-up. But while volumes are growing fast, Pactics is making the transition to maturity, whilst staying lean on the cost side at the same time.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Direct activities of production to meet prescribed facility objectives by solid implementation.
2. Monitor labor, materials, and overhead expenses for all sections to identify trends and develop improvement plans for areas that hinder productivity & profitability, implement lean methodology with SOP for continuous improvements.
3. Maintain corporate disciplines, company policies, and procedures to create a productive, organized, clean, and safe environment, foster positive company culture with high staff morale.
4. Develop new product mass production layout, flow, operation SOP and operator skill training.
5. Maintain operation capacity data, make detailed plans for daily production, maintain line balance during daily production, and reduce work in progress and production process lead time.
6. Drive improvement initiatives focused upon improving processes to attain increased through-put and quality.
7. Implement proactive maintenance activities and a safety prevention plan to minimize machine breakdown and safety issues.
8. Serve as a mentor to subordinates by creating an environment characterized by a free exchange of ideas, teaching, and learning from each other.
9. Implement company instruction leading to improved or changed processes in support of the company’s growth objectives.
10. Manage attendance time, work discipline and assessment and appraisal of all subordinates.
11. Complete other assignments and special projects as requested by the operation director.
The ideal candidate meets following criteria
Education
? Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Operations Management is preferred. Masters or MBA is a plus.
Experience
? Above 3 years’ experience in managing a manufacturing facility
? Familiar with fabric printing, cutting, sewing & packing operations.
? Some ERP operating experience;
Language
? A good level of English in writing and understanding is a must, reasonable speaking is appreciated;
Knowledge of:
? Lean Manufacturing Concepts
? Kaizen, industry engineering, morale management, EHS;

? Excellent organizational skills
? Excellent decision-making and follow-through skills

Working Conditions
Involves working in general manufacturing conditions where there are frequently moving products. These conditions also include working in an area where there is moderate noise from the manufacturing processes present and without air conditioning.
