Sales Director – Wartsila Yuchai Engine Company
Wartsila Yuchai Engine Company, the joint venture owned 50/50 by Wartsila and Yuchai Marine Power Co., Ltd, was established in May 2013 in Zhuhai, Guangdong Province China. WYEC will manufacture medium speed marine engines to serve the increasing dominant Chinese shipbuilding industry. The products to be produced by WYEC include the Wartsila 20; Wartsila 26 and Wartsila 32 series of Medium speed engines. Production is planned to start mid of 2014. The position directly report to: Managing Director Wartsila Yuchai Engine Company.
Job Purpose
You will work strategically with managing director to plot a well-thought-out business plan, as well as to develop and manage sales organization within China. You have to take full responsibility for identifying key target ship owners, ship yards and ship design institutes, winning and nurturing key accounts.
Typical Roles and Responsibilities
1)Monitor and analyze market trends; develop and implement an effective strategic sales plan.
2)Responsible for initiating and executing the sales budget; provide gap analysis and action plans.
3)Lead the day-to-day operations of the sales department; continually analyzes and evaluates sales development, to insure that maximum volume is obtained. In charge of all sales activities and personnel involved in Sales and marketing
4)Coordinates sales operations with all other departments/organizations of the Company. Develops, maintains and improves business relations with all customers; Target new customers and new sales opportunities, initiates action to secure new business
5)Attract, develop and motivate a diverse sales force. Oversees all hiring, training and developing of personnel involved in Sales. Lead and influence a successful and experienced team of Sales managers; effectively execute and manage the sales process on an individual level and build a top notch direct sales team.
6)Develop and maintain a strong work relationship with key opinion leaders and contacts with other relevant agents.
7)Set up key performance indicators and follow-up mechanism to focus on actual sales, profitability, and growth percentage; analyze sales statistics to determine business growth potential.
8)Prospecting and growing the project list, handling incoming leads and closing sales. Develop close relationships and business with targeted key account customers, set up action plans and achieve our targeted market share and sales budget on these identified key customers.
9)Continuously collect and report market information such as price levels /Opportunities /Problems /Market potential in China/Competitive activities etc.
Qualification
1)A relevant education background and well-developed understanding of the shipbuilding industry and associated product would be an advantage.
2)Strong entrepreneurial spirit to drive tremendous revenue growth; strong influencing skill to persuade and close the deals; proven track record in managing and selling solutions, main engine or genset project; proficient understanding of shipbuilding business; good at conceptual selling and consultative selling; ability to develop new accounts, manage those relationships and drive incremental revenue; goal oriented and sales driven; proven leadership with ability to be a coach and mentor, be a active listener ; native Chinese speaker with excellent written and verbal skills in English; Excellent presentation skills
3)Ability to make strategic decisions; ability to inspire others to share their vision and support them to reach a common goal.
