JOB SUMMARY
The Asia Parts and Service Technician works as Field Service Engineer, under minimum supervision of the Technical Support Representative performs diagnostics and repairs on all Armor Metal Group division products. Although their primary responsibilities are to diagnose equipment problems, they will also provide installation and equipment rebuild services. Regular travel is a requirement of this position. The job requires a strong electrical, mechanical, computer, and PLC skills with prior experience troubleshooting similar equipment and circuits.

Responsibilities include:
? 24/7 availability to respond to customer emergencies
? Maintaining rapport with customers by examining complaints, identifying solutions, suggesting improved methods and techniques, and recommending system improvements
? Performing regularly scheduled planned maintenance to test performance of mechanical and electrical assemblies. Inspecting tasks include: to test, tune, and make adjustments as required to maintain equipment to manufacturer specifications
? Diagnosing parts, assemblies, and equipment failures through review of engineering drawings, schematics, diagrams, and technical orders to determine cause of failure
? Performing repairs, adjustments, and replacements of defective components
? Installing basic equipment insuring all connections are properly made and that equipment will start up correctly and is fully functional. Providing customer basic training on operation and maintenance
? Consulting with engineering personnel to resolve unusual problems in system operation and maintenance
? Documenting service and installation actions by completing service reports, logs, and performance checklists.

PRINCIPAL CONTACTS INSIDE/OUTSIDE THE COMPANY
This position interacts with Company employees, Service Providers, equipment OEM dealers, Customers and Customer representatives.

COMPETENCY OR POSITION REQUIREMENTS
? Must be able to proficiently read and write in English language to communicate with customers and complete required service intervention documentation
? Must have good credit and ability to obtain travel and accommodation reservations as required in the performance of field service calls
? Own and be proficient in use of basic tools necessary to repair and maintain Armor Shanghai division products
? Must be able to read mechanical assembly drawings, electrical pneumatic, steam, gas, and HVAC schematics
? Must have proficient troubleshooting skills to identify common equipment problems within the electrical, HVAC, steam, and hydraulic circuits. Must be capable of using a volt meter and pressure flow gages to review and validate circuit amperage, voltage, and pressure levels
? Must have PLC diagnostic and modification skill set
? Must be able to operate all equipment to demonstrate proper operation or to identify and demonstrate a malfunction or discrepancy
? Must have basic proficiency in making repairs requiring wiring, soldering, and mechanical adjustment
? Welding experience is preferred but not required

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
? Associates Degree in industrial electronics, PLC programming or factory automation
? 3 years prior experience in electrical and mechanical assembly testing and repair

EQUIPMENT USED
This position will use hand held tools, power tools, combustion analyzers, volt meter, pressure gages, and assorted test equipment.

WORKING AND PHYSICAL CONDITIONS
This position requires regular travel during the week as well as occasional weekends. Service Engineers are required to remain onsite until work is completed. Majority of the service calls are performed alone and may require interaction with customer or a customer’s representative. Service Engineers work outside of the company premises and must be able to work with minimum to no direct supervision. Travel abroad is also possible.
