1. Job Purpose

• Supports Program manager in medical devices product transfer to meet project timeline & customer’s expectation in supply integrity & quality perspective
• Lead the medical device cell in overseeing daily operation by facilitating production supervisor, QA specialist & maintenance specialist and working with various functional groups
• To build a strong WEST culture in the area of team work, safety, quality , continuous improvement & customer satisfaction as well as uphold West code of Business Conduct / ethics compliance in medical device cell

2. Job Responsibilities/Objectives

2.1 Supports medical device program manager in the planning & execution of product transfer activities by working together with Sending plant & various functional groups i.e. Engineering, SCM, HR, EHS, Finance & CS in:

2.1.1 Contributing actively in Medical device production line readiness incl. building infrastructure, equipment, tooling, accessories, MES & documentation according to timeline

2.1.2 Responsible for machine (IOPQ) & product validation (technology transfer) status by working with various support team

2.1.3 Responsible for people’s competency / training status by working with HR & various supporting group

2.1.4 Liaise with external compounder in master batch preparation (cost, quality & supply integrity) by working with SCM / Purchasing

2.1.5 Working with program manager to build the Medical device production team in China

2.2 Oversees medical devices daily operation and responsible for:

2.2.1 Product quality & supply integrity

2.2.2 Customer satisfaction related activities i.e. CAPA, audit & complaint handling

2.2.3 Productivity, Yield% & OEE%

2.2.4 EHS & Sustainability aspect

2.2.5 Continuous improvement in cost, lead time, & product quality

2.3 Provide leadership to resolve operational or administrative issues on a timely and effective manner.

2.4 Able to perform troubleshooting and through applying problem solving skills to resolve technical and operation issues.

2.5 Uphold West code of business conduct / ethics compliance

2.6 Perform duties as required by the Superior.

4. Skills, Knowledge & Experience – Professional, Technical, Business

Professional

• Good honours degree in Engineering / production management with minimum 10 years of working experience with minimum 5 years of people management experience
• Diploma holder with longer experience will be considered
• Experience in High Volume manufacturing plants, experience in pharmaceutical/Food processing/ rubber manufacturing would be an advantage

Technical

• Good understanding of industrial standards, plant & facilities maintenance & Six Sigma
• Exposure of best practices or continuous improvement in Engineering and Production
• Lean thinker & exposed to Value Stream concept

Business

· Good business acumen and ability to think strategic.

· Knowledge in Project / Supplier Management.

· Effective interpersonal & communication skills

· Good report writing & presentation skills.

· Risk assessment and management skills

Fluent in English & Mandarin
