role: business development manager, mainland china

job description

main responsibilities:

- to perform analysis of the competitive scenario by mapping the most important lighting specifiers (architects, interior designer, lighting designers), buyers and distributors and to implement a strategy aimed to develop the market

- to execute the business development strategy by an effective cooperation with the specifiers, clients and distributors in the area and by proactively promoting the brand in order to build and retain a network of new contacts

- to implement a plan to develop the business of the commercial partners in the area and actively support them in all the aspects of the cooperation

- to promote the lighting projects and directly follow up with the clients in all the phases, from the lighting design to the on-site supervision

- to guarantee the implementation of the strategy according to and with respect of the company’s culture, brand positioning and internal procedures

- to internally report with continuity and reliability about the ongoing business, new contacts, project development

mandatory requirements:

- minimum 5 years of relevant and continuous working experience in the lighting sector, preferably in a high-end foreign company

- a proven track record of successful business development, with a solid and extensive network of relationships with industry’s players, architects, designers, developers and distributors

- technical lighting or design background is a plus

- chinese mother language, fluent in English, spoken and written; Italian is a plus

- strong computer skills (MS office Word, Excel)

- strong interpersonal skills

- independent, with entrepreneurial spirit

- able to work with a goal-oriented attitude and well organized

- flexibility and full availability to travel

- international experience is a strong plus

note: this is a role with 360°exposure and high external visibility, with interaction with high-standing counterparts and the headquarter in Italy. therefore strong responsibility, maturity, professionalism and company loyalty are absolutely required.
