Title
Application Engineer (AE) (of Urma Trading (Shanghai) Co.,Ltd. (USH)
Objectives of position
The
main function of this position is to provide competent technical
service to Chinese customers and distributors within China. The AE
attends the projects from the initialisation until the final approval by
the customer. He reports to the Sales Manager and follows his
instructions.
Organisation
Reports to: Sales Manager (SM)

Customers - analyzing customer applications and working out tooling proposals
- supporting customers to solve application problems
- running tool tests and demos
- technical training for customers and distributors
- communicate with technical sales dpt in Switzerland
- participating tool shows
Administration - reporting to SM about:
- customer visits
- cutting data reports
- project feedback
- technical problems or quality complains with Urma products
- uncommon competitor activities
- assisting to translate technical brochures, catalogs and manuals into chinese
- organizing cutting data record archive
Skills of ideal candidate:
- machining background (operator of Machining Centers; CNC-programmer (with practical experience in cutting)
cutting tool specialist from major competitors
- good sense for methods in trouble-shooting (machining problems)
- good mechanical skills (not only in theory)
- strong computer user skills (MS-Office programs)
- good english skills (oral and in writing)
- self-confident
- strong reporting and record-keeping skills
- willing to travel countrywide, in particular with overnight stays away from home
- must be able to work independent
- open minded, friendly behaviour
- team spirit
