Responsibility and Duty
- Be responsible for optical system design and development, from concept through fabrication and system integration;
- Participate in some or all of the following: system requirements trade analyses, system architecture definition, optical design, performance evaluation and tolerancing, component and system specification definition, component and system fabrication oversight, system alignment and testing;
- Work with Project Manager to ensure technical content is delivered on time;
- Write design and verification documentation and provide input to requirement specifications;
- Carry out design FMEA and reliability assessments on opto-mechanical sub-assemblies;
- Provide optical engineering support for production team.

Requirements:
- Master degree in Optics, Physics or related Engineering discipline, PhD preferred
- Rich Experience and knowledge to measure, diagnose and control the stray light in the system;
- Provide color science and photometry optics expertise and support;
- Hands-on use of lab equipment (such as spectrometers, integrating spheres, etc)
- Optical filter and detector design support for our line of spectrometers
- Experience in utilizing optical design tools such as Zemax;
- Ability to work effectively with an internal cross-functional team along with managing external resources
- Previous experience in an optical manufacturing environment;
- Ability to adapt to new technologies and assess their potential impact and usefulness in diverse areas within the company;
- Strong aptitude for transferring products and technologies from development to manufacture.
