Human Factors Engineer/Scientist

United Technologies Research Center (China) Ltd. invites qualified individuals to apply for the following position in the Shanghai office. This position will compensate the chosen candidate at competitive local Shanghai market wage rate, and benefits will be administered based on local Shanghai benefit practices.

Senior Research Scientist: Human Factors

Job Description:
? Participate in multi-disciplinary teams on projects related to building, HVAC, elevator and fire & security product design/development and use appropriate Human Factors techniques to ensure superiority usability.
? Provide Human Factors expertise across the product development lifecycle including customer/user needs identification, development of user profiles, usage scenarios and task analyses, and design of interaction/interface concepts.
? Create new technical and project opportunities through technology leveraging, strategic partnering, and acquisition of external contracts.
? Lead and participate in multidisciplinary projects, ensuring high quality deliverables and seamless integration with the UTRC team in the U.S.A., and University partners in China. Provide timely, accurate and detailed reports and presentations.


Minimum Qualifications Required:
? MS or PhD degree with 1-3 year professional experience in one of the following: Human Factors Engineering, Usability Engineering, Cognitive/Experimental Psychology, Human Computer Interaction, Behavioral Scientist, or other related
? In-depth knowledge and experience in Human Factors related discipline, such as UX Design, Human Factor Engineering, Usability analysis
? Familiar with applying User Research and User Centered Design techniques
? Ability to create high quality usability artifacts including use cases, user stories, user requirements, low fidelity and high fidelity mockups, usability test plans and reports, executive presentations that succinctly describe the usability issues and recommendations to resolve them such that the user experience excellence is achieved.
? Fluent in English (both written and spoken) and good communication skills. Chinese is desirable but not necessary.
? Project execution and leadership experience.

Preferred Candidates will possess the following:
? MS or PhD degree in Human Factors, Usability Engineering or Cognitive/Experimental Psychology with 3+ year professional experience.
? Experience with HMI design or product development is a plus.
? Experience with Applied UX research and design expertise in mobile solutions is a plus.
? Self-starter who works well in an international teaming environment, is extremely well-organized and has excellent interpersonal, leadership and communication skills
