CESG is looking for Interns with an interest in transport and sustainability in China. The Sustainable Transport Interns will contribute to gathering and analyzing information on China’s urban transport systems. The interns will be an essential part of the CESG Transport Team as it quickly grows in scope and capabilities. The interns will also be required to spend some time on work for the SLoCaT partnership promoting the global development of sustainable transport.

Sustainable Transport Intern Job Description:
-Collect transport data on Chinese cities from academic papers and reports and other sources for input into data and knowledge base
-Identify sustainable transport best practices in China and work to quantify their benefits for sustainability.
-Analyze transport policy and sustainable indicators of transport.
-Contribute to the CESG weekly newsletter on sustainable urban transport in China.

Sustainable Transport Intern Requirements
-Passion for improving China’s environment through sustainable transport
-English or Chinese native speaker (Needs to have good English speaking ability)
-Bachelors Degree or above in transport, urban planning, engineering or other sustainability related field
-Proven capacity to work in a team and on independent projects
-Able to commit to at least 3 months and at least 20 hours a week
-Experience with Microsoft Excel, with Relational Database (e.g. MySQL) experience as a plus

The Climate Environment Service Group (CESG)- Shanghai is a wholly owned foreign enterprise in Shanghai working to promote sustainable transport in China through a data driven approach. CESG is working to consolidate data and knowledge on urban transport and sustainability to understand the role that sustainable transport can play in cities of all sizes in China. CESG also acts as the Secretariat to the Partnership on Sustainable, Low Carbon Transport (SLoCaT) that works with over 80 international organizations, companies and research institutions to promote sustainable transport around the globe.
