Senior Commercial Officer – Architecture, Engineering & Construction

The Royal Danish Consulate General in Shanghai is looking for an energetic person to take over a full-time position as senior commercial officer within the ACMT team (Architecture, Construction, Machinery & Transport) and the E&E team (Energy & Environment). The position will be anchored within the team structure of Trade Council in China (TCC) under the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Your goal is to help grow Danish companies and give them access to the potential of the Chinese market. We expect that you have experience from the industry and a relevant network. You need to be outgoing, independent, result driven and capable of cooperating with a team across different missions in China.

TCC assists and promotes Danish companies interested in doing business in China, i.e. by facilitation of sales, partner search, market research and promotion of products. TCC consists of 6 different industry teams and it constitutes a total of around 60 colleagues in six different Chinese locations.

You will play a substantial role in a team within a matrix organisation – both geography and industries are relevant dimensions, and you will be referring to the Consul General and the team leader. TCC offers its services based on a fee, and a turnover target as well as a number of other strategic targets is associated with the job. Travel will include domestic trips.

Job description

You will provide first-rate consultancy services for Danish companies with focus on sustaining the good governmental and commercial relations between Denmark and China. Your work will include: 

· Motivating and inspiring the team to create and deliver high quality services. 

· Developing and presenting business proposals to Danish companies for business development in China, including market entry strategies and how to set up business in China.

· Analysis of the commercial opportunities within the Chinese industry in the mentioned areas. 

· Planning and execution of projects in relation to the Trade Council’s and the Consulate’s public service obligations as well as the Trade Council’s commercial goals. 

· Developing and implementation of marketing initiatives, events, trade fairs and conferences within the industry as well as recruiting Danish companies for these activities.

Required qualifications

We are looking for a flexible and enthusiastic team player with an eye for quality and efficiency in your daily work. Furthermore you should have: 

· Proven record of selling and executing advisory services

·A strong network within the industry – at least in China 

·An academic background, preferably with an economic and business related education 

· Good communication and sales skills. 

· Fluent in mandarin and high proficiency skills in English 

· Structured approach to new tasks and the ability to maintain overview of many on-going cases 
