JOB DESCRIPTION:

Provide regional leadership, technical support and training support to Tenneco facilities and in implementing and maintaining the Tenneco Behavioral Safety Process (Behavior Base Safety – BBS) for the purpose of significantly reducing occupational injuries and creating injury-free careers for Tenneco employees.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Plan and execute implementations of BBS at all plants within a region. Implement either directly or with the assistance of the Global BBS Manager.

· Maintain contact with the regional plants. This includes: Process Facilitator, Management Sponsor and Plant Managers.

· Coach and mentor the BBS process users and observers.

· Develop and adapt the BBS process to take into consideration Tenneco’s specific requirements.

· Oversee and assist with development of site action “blueprints” based on their project assessments.

· Oversee and assist with project maintenance training, which may include: New Steering Committee Training, ‘Train the Trainer’ Behavioral Action Planning, Behavioral Root Cause Analysis, Incident analysis, Observer Motivation, Assessing and Improving Observation Quality, as well as any new Behavioral Safety concepts.

· Oversee and assist with all necessary process-related training at smaller sites.

· Provide answers to sites specific questions in a timely manner.

· Oversee and assist sites with regional networking and workshop opportunities.

· Facilitate regional and company-wide Behavioral Safety communications.

· Oversee and assist site by site assistance with broad based application of the Process in such things as development of job-specific risk behavior profiles.

· Oversee and assist with periodic progress checks, recognize red flags and develop plans to address any problems.

· Oversee and assist plants for routine process assessments, develop action plans for continuous improvement, track and follow-up on the site’s completion of action plans.

· Modify and develop Tenneco’s BBS monthly performance measures (BBS Effort) as required and ensure that this and related metrics are rolled up to Business Unit EHS Directors.

· Provide statistical reports on the impact on health and safety from BBS.

· Present the status of the Process at plant managers’ meetings and similar venues.

· Stay abreast of developments in Behavioral Safety and other technical advances.

· Participate in development of policies and procedures throughout all levels of Tenneco with particular emphasis on safety management and injury prevention.

· Make persuasive arguments and obtain commitments in support of the Initiative.

MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS

· Fluent in English and the local language of the employees in the region's plants.

· Successful completion of the Regional BBS Consultant training from the Global BBS Manager and the subsequent field training

· Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent knowledge and experience

· 5 years progressive experience within a manufacturing environment within any discipline to achieve the following: a broad-based, general knowledge of manufacturing processes, manufacturing organization structure and interaction between all levels and disciplines within a manufacturing operation

· In-depth knowledge of computer software required - word processing, communication, spreadsheet, database, presentation

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

· Training requires being on your feet all day which results in fatigue.

· Travel is extensive - requiring significant time away from home, in one or two week segments - including some weekend travel.
