OVERVIEW:

The Digital Planner position within the Regional Ford team is responsible for creating, implementing and overseeing socially-driven digital campaigns that effectively deliver against regional objectives (i.e., brand and vehicle launch programs)

This detail oriented role will work hand in hand with account teams, creatives, and other planners to develop impactful digital strategies that help connect our campaigns & initiatives with target consumers. The digital planner will take the lead in sharing these strategies with the local markets and ensuring they are executed appropriately. This includes building an ongoing partnership with the "conversation managers" (who oversee the day-to-day social media) to ensure marketing programs are shared across the communities.

To help develop these strategies, the digital planner will stay abreast of local consumer behavior and Ford activity in earned, owned and bought channels across 11 markets. He / she will also utilize global tools Buddy Media and Visible Technologies for ongoing analysis of consumer behavior and competitive overview.

The self-starter is extremely comfortable multi-tasking, has sound qualitative and quantitative analytic skills and is a digital native, familiar with existing digital channels and aware of upcoming innovations in the digital space.

This position sits within the integrated planning group of the Blue Hive team. BlueHive Shanghai (Part of WPP group) is a full service marketing and communications agency dedicated to servicing the Ford business in Asia Pacific and South Africa.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Insights
1. Develop an understanding of the consumer in various markets across Greater Asia, and the ability to represent their needs and motivations in the strategic and creative process.
2. Understand and constantly review competitors’ digital, social and mobile programs
3. Liaison with brand planners to understand consumer research and apply to digital programs
4. Closely follow developments in digital industry – both globally and in each of the APA markets
5. Liaison with conversation managers in each market (responsible for the social media communities) to glean social insights

Planning
1. Work with Facebook on page audits & publishing garages to determine effective social strategy for key markets
2. Assist Campaign Launch planner & Creative team in developing key launch strategies
3. Support the development of digital communication plans for key vehicle launches (including owned website timing and content, Mobile, Social and Search solutions)

Implementation
1. Support local markets in social media tool usage: i.e., Visible and Buddy Media usage
2. Assist in planning and roll out of digital communications plans.
3. Regularly connect with conversation managers to ensure communications plans are shared across social media communities

Analytics Responsibilities
1. Regularly assess social monitoring & social media analytics


REQUIRED SKILLS

Communication Skills:
He/she should possess strong written and oral communication skills (is able to write and present strategic plans and presentations)

Creativity/innovation Skills:
The planner should be passionate about digital innovations and recognize original, creative solutions to business problems, and demonstrate “out of the box” thinking.

Internal Partnering Skills:
The communications planner has to build confidence, trust and respect with the Ford clients, staff, peers, and be able to work effectively in project teams globally and across the region at all levels
Ability to work across different cultures
Mastery of Microsoft Office required


PREFERRED PROFILE:

1. BA/BS Degree Required
2. 4+ years industry experience; planning experience preferred
3. Experience in a full service agency environment preferred
4. Conversational Mandarin is a plus
