Testing Center Supervisor

JOB SUMMARY:
Position Description and Purpose:
Reporting to the R&D/Training Center Manager, the Testing Center Supervisor will lead a team to complete various testing and analysis modules on equipment to support the floorcare market. The Testing Center Supervisor will be instrumental in driving the growth of the Testing Center to a fully-functional, professional testing facility. The position identifies testing methods and standards, analyzes data and prepares reports.


PERFORMANCE DIMENSIONS & KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPI)
Specific KPI’s Critical to the Success of Position:
1. Manage Daily Workflow and Output of MWR-Asia Testing Center
2. Assist in Creation of New Testing Modules, SOPs, and Standard Work
3. Plan and manage the schedule for use of the R&D Facility and Personnel. Supervise, train, and evaluate testing center staff.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
? Hires, directs, supervises, evaluates work, conducts performance reviews and schedules employees.
? Assigns work and prioritizes assignments to subordinates.
? Assists in the development of paid-for testing service package offerings to OEM customers.
? Identifies proper testing modules including methods of analysis and standards.
? Develops and documents standardized testing standards, methods and reports.
? Prepares and presents reports to external customers on a global basis, including those from United States and Europe.
? Acts as technical and application subject matter expert for squeegee blades, hoses, and other technical products.
? Collaborates with other MWR sales, purchasing, and technical departments.
? Maintains confidentiality for clients.
? Participates in hiring process to grow the department.
? Supports the design and execution of New Product Development projects within the R&D/Testing Center.
? Develops and manages project budgets within agreed-upon targets.
? Provides effective communication of project activities to global stakeholders.
? Participates in Lean events to drive rapid process improvements throughout the facility.
? Maintains positive corporate image and reputation.
? Plans and hosts visitors to the R&D and Training center to collaborate on development and testing projects. Insures effective demonstrations to increase sales.

Non essential functions
? Manages or assists in management of the installation and start-up of major capital investments for MWR-Asia
? Provides technical insight and support for Production Department when needed
? Accompany sales department to visit customers/end users to provide technical input to solve problems occurring in the field.
? Other duties as assigned


QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Qualifications
? Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in Engineering, Chemistry, or related field
? Strong English written and verbal communication skills
? 5-15 years of experience in a technical or R&D environment with at least 3 years of direct management experience.
? Strong process management skills and written communication skills
? Proficient in Word, Excel and Powerpoint
? Able to communicate, interact and influence effectively at all levels of the organization
? Willing to work hard and be flexible to perform multiple simultaneous tasks
? Valid passport and able to do global travel

Preferred Qualifications
? Masters Degree in Engineering, Chemistry or related field
? Experience with CAD software
? Mechanical aptitude
? Experience in similar industry

ENVIRONMENT and COGNITIVE /PHYSICAL DEMANDS
? Office (or production) environment
? Ability to read, hear, speak, keyboard, and reason and problem solve.
? Job will require occasional bending, stooping, standing for 4 or more hours daily, lifting 10 or more kg frequently.
? Must read and interpret charts and diagrams.
? Must make basic math computations regularly.
? Requires prolonged sitting
? Telephone usage.
? Requires the use of office equipment such as computer terminals, telephones or copiers.
? Requires normal vision range.
? Travel to multiple countries
