Responsibilities

- Evaluate gaps in expertise, processes and resources at China JVs, based on GM’s Global Program Quality Plan, Global Export/Import SUP Quality Process and GMIO Product Development Quality strategies & initiatives
- Develop plans to close gaps in China as stipulated above by deploying disciplined and standardized work elements
- Work closely with China JVs to drive and execute these plans and when necessary educate, train and coach PDQ resources at JVs
- Represent GM China in GMIO PDQ Leadership Team meetings
- Work with Adam Opel PET (Program Execution Team) and ensure adequate sufficiency plans to achieve new Opel program quality targets for China
- Represent Quality in China Opel Import Coordination Team and execute Global Export/Import SUP Quality deliverables
- Maintain China Quality Lessons Learned and Country & Customer Specific Requirements database for Opel programs
- Support and provide feedback to GM China Quality Director

Qualifications:

Knowledge:
- Well-developed automotive industry experience in Engineering, Quality or Manufacturing, i.e. knowledge in vehicle development (VDP), quality systems/processes, production launch, vehicle assessment/verification/audit, internal metrics (i.e. warranty, direct run), external metrics (i.e. VOC/J.D. Power)
Skills/Competencies:
- Customer focused, motivated and self-driven individual – “find it and fix it” mentality!
- Strong interpersonal, analytical and problem solving skills
- Seasoned organizational and negotiation skills with the ability to teach and coach all levels of the organization
- Ability to work with cross-functional teams or alone without supervision
- Well-developed communication skills, including written and spoken Mandarin and English
- Proficiency in MS Office software
Experience/Education:
- Engineering degree or higher
- Minimum 8 years automotive industry experience is essential in Engineering, Manufacturing or Quality
- Previous experience within GM will be very advantageous – knowledge of GM’s vehicle development process, quality processes, engineering, GM-GMS, supplier quality, manufacturing engineering etc.
