Major Duties and Responsibilities:

-- Work with vehicle configuration team to define and develop architecture & seating bucks design based on project requests from GM JVs or GM regional customers.
-- Define and develop projects plan for resource allocation, budget plan, project timing plan, etc. to ensure on-time execution and deliverable of architecture & seating bucks to customers.
-- Work with vehicle configuration team and benchmarking team to define and develop competitive vehicles’ virtual configuration benchmarking plan based on the projects request from GM JVs or GM regional customers.
-- Allocate CVI labs resources to scan competitive vehicles, including complete vehicle surface math data and certain component-level scanning. Provide scanned data to vehicle configuration team for final competitive vehicle virtual configuration study and report, including exterior & interior dimensions, general arrangement drawing, visibility, entry-egress studies, etc.
-- Manage workshop resources, including organizing for workshop safety and cleanliness, instruments inventory, calibration schedule, and regular maintenance.
-- Manage workshop materials incoming and outgoing inventory, status tracking, etc.
-- Effectively communicate results to customers, counter party, cross-functional teams, and supervisor.
-- Willing to work (occasionally) beyond normal working hours.

Qualifications:

-- Engineering college or higher degree preferably with a major in Automotive Engineering
-- Understand technical standards especially dimensional technical specifications, part specifications etc.
-- Good unigraphics skills (Modeling, drafting, fixture design, section analysis etc.)
-- Basic knowledge of Siemens team center “Tc”
-- Basic knowledge of wood work, metal work etc.
-- Good English skills.
-- Good PC skills, email, MS Office software.
-- Demonstrated high level of interpersonal communication skills
-- High level of personal and professional integrity

Experience:

-- 5 or more years’ experiences in automotive companies or automotive design & engineering house working on advanced vehicle physical properties such as architecture & seating bucks, rapid prototype parts, to support product development.
-- Experience in problem investigation and applying technical judgment to develop solutions.
-- Good record of observing safety protocol.

Preferred experiences:

-- Experience in vehicle development process; with work experience in workshops and machine shops to create physical properties, such as architecture & seating bucks, rapid prototype parts, etc.
