The Position

Primary Purpose of Job (Job Summary)

• To ensure that intellectual property generated at pRED China is properly protected and support local business from patent perspective.

Principle Roles & Responsibilities / Accountabilities

• Drafts patent applications in English and provides daily consultation to the drug discovery and development team, with the aim to protect all valuable innovations
• Prosecutes and defends protective patent applications / patents for inventions originated from pRED China
• Provides basis for decisions to maintain or abandon patent rights
  Develops, negotiates and reviews IP terms for pRED China contracts
  Coordinates pRED China research contract review processes and contract archival;
• Maintains or improves pRED China contract related processes;

　　　Advises China Pharma business on patent matters;

• Follows up on China IP environment
• Other logistic support for Patents Shanghai

Education/Qualifications

• B.Sc. in pharmaceutical, chemical or biological sciences, Master or Ph.D. is preferred
• Qualified Chinese patent attorney
• At least 3 years related working experiences

• A considerable degree of flexibility and the capability of setting priorities to handle numerous cases simultaneously
• Strong customer-service focus to build and sustain good working
• partnerships with key stakeholders, local clients, global patent attorneys and outside counsel

Job Required Competencies

• Details oriented
• Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team
• English and Mandarin Chinese, written & oral
