eBay CCOE Search Science team is looking for a senior technologist to join its world-class Product Engineering team, working on the world's largest business intelligence and analytic platform. You will be leading design, development and implementation of Hadoop-based solutions/products that enable eBay's global business users to gain deeper business insights and make smarter business decisions. We expect our candidates to be deeply technical and Agile, passionate and innovative about technologies, excellent team player and great mentor to your peers.

- Lead design and development efforts of metrics and analytics tools on top of Hadoop platform , and to ensure quality and a positive user experience for all delivered solutions

- Technical lead for large, complex big data processing projects. Develop strategic and tactical implementation plans considering key business objectives and resource constraints

- Provide ad-hoc analytic support in time and with high quality with regard to business needs.

- Provide training and support on Hadoop-related technologies. Mentor junior engineers to gain and improve Hadoop knowledge and skills.

. Excellent understanding of computer science fundamentals, data structures, and algorithms.

. Solid Java programming skills.

· Hands-on with Hadoop platform with exposure to Map/Reduce, PIG, Hive, Scala, Cascading, Scoobi, etc.

·Data mining expertise is a strong plus.

· Proven results oriented person with a delivery focus in a high velocity, high quality environment.

· Strong communication skills in Oral and Written English.

· Working Experience in Multi-national Company is a plus.

Bachelor degree with 5+ year working experience or Master degree with 3+ year experience in software development. Major in computer science, software engineering, eletrical engineering, mathematics, or other related areas.
