Purchasing and Logistics Agent
D’Addario Shanghai Trading Company, is looking for a Purchasing and Logistical Agent who will be responsible for assisting with the US-based Company’s Global Supply Chain Department’s daily operations with respect to its overseas business in Asia, providing coordination of production planning and scheduling, logistics management of inventory both outbound and inbound in Asia. This position serves as an administrative liaison between the Company’s USA HQ, manufacturing facilities/vendors in Asia and Company’s office in China to bridge supply chain operations.
Major Responsibilities/Activities:
· Processing all outsourced POs with Asian vendors/manufacturers on behalf of the Company
· Communicating with all Asian vendors and manufacturing facilities on behalf of the Company
· Coordinating and managing all purchasing, manufacturing operations and production planning with Asian vendors for outbound China, inbound China, domestic China and Direct Ship orders
· Validating open orders, production status of POs, lead times, MOQs, packaging, QA, compliance requirements and all other pertinent procurement and manufacturing metrics
· Assisting in new sourcing initiatives for raw materials, components and FGDS
· Assisting in acquiring Quotes from potential/targeted vendors
· Coordinating efforts of Company’s QC Team to enable efficient functionality of QC inspections in Asia.
· Processing all administrative and supply chain operations via Shipping Interface (Company’s internal portal)
· Administering and processing logistical arrangements, consolidation, freight management, bookings and dispatch with vendors/Shippers/Exporters, freight forwarders, shipping lines, airlines, customs brokers, 3PL providers and authorities. Coordinate all logistical arrangements with Chinese-based counter-parties of the Company’s logistics providers for international and domestic Chinese shipments
· Utilizing resource planning software to assess demand, safety stocks, exposures, lead times on China inbound goods and coordinate supply chain operations for Company’s entity in China under guidance of Company’s USA HQ.
Required
- Knowledge of Lean Supply Chain Management concepts and tools
- Knowledge of International Maritime and IATA regulations and International Trade Compliance
- Background in manufacturing and/or international commerce
- Fluent in verbal and written English, Mandarin and Cantonese
- Operational knowledge of MRP and other resource planning IT software
- Background in Lean and Six Sigma is preferred
Minimum Qualifications:
- BS Degree in Operations Management, International Trade Management, Global Logistics Management, Supply Chain Management from an Accredited Institution (College or University)
- 5 plus years of relevant work experience
- Ability to travel within mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and internationally
