职位描述

JOB DESCRIPTION

1. Purpose of the Post

To have a key liaison role working with Birmingham City University offering specialist support and guidance, working closely with the International Office to provide the first point of contact for students and prospective students from China. Liaising with in-country contacts at all levels and delivering agreed recruitment, income and partnership development targets. To line manage the team of staff in the BCU China office. To liaise with other University overseas offices as required

2. Main Duties and Responsibilities

a) To manage the admissions process, including checking qualifications, scanning and issuing and distributing offer letters and liaising with the International Office in the UK to ensure a speedy response (24 – 48 hour turnaround) and to support conversion activity.

b) Assisting with the recruitment and visa application process for students offering advice and counselling sessions to applicants, close liaison with the British Council and High Commission in China.

c) To identify opportunities for partnership and to conduct initial fact finding and networking to establish proposals for co-operation and collaboration between Birmingham City University and potential Chinese partners and prepare business cases for such development.

d) To work closely with the Regional Manager SE Asia and Assistant Director for Strategic Alliances and Partnerships to forge stronger and more productive relationships with existing partners and deliver a strategic approach to the development of new partnerships.

e) To produce regular reports for the Assistant Directors and Director International Office to advise on market developments, competitor activity and new opportunities for Birmingham City University recruitment and partnership development

f) To work closely with the Regional Manager for SE Asia and Assistant Director International Recruitment to recommend, justify and deliver an agreed strategy and recruitment plan for China to meet agreed targets.

g) To liaise regularly with in-country networks such as British Council, UKTI, CBBC, and relevant departments of provincial and national governments as required by the country strategy.

h) To liaise with local agents to deliver a promotional programme for Birmingham City University and to support agent training

i) To represent the university at fairs as appropriate and to advise on appropriate promotional materials and activity including advertising media, copy for leaflets / fliers and translations.

j) To build alumni associations and develop their role in supporting future recruitment.


3. Supervision Received

The post holder will report to SE Asia Regional Manager, working through the Assistant Director International Recruitment and Assistant Director Strategic Alliances and Partnerships as required

5. Budget Management Responsibility

The post holder will hold responsibility for finance management including a small day to day budget for running costs for the Office

3. Flexibility in working hours will be required and travel within China, the region and other locations including the UK may be expected.

PERSONNEL SPECIFICATION
