Automated Patch-clamp for better and faster Drug development
Sophion’s automated patch-clamp platform, the QPatch, has been a success and at pharma companies worldwide. We believe that expert service and support on time are the key to satisfied customers. We are now looking to expand our team in China and are therefore searching for a dedicated Application Scientist based in Shanghai, China.
The job
Working for Sophion you will be traveling around to customer sites where you will meet both scientific and technical challenges. The job will be carried out in close collaboration with our distributor in China as well as our core groups of Application Scientists & Technical Service teams. After a training period in Denmark your job will consist of:
. Support of customer’s electrophysiological projects
. Design and perform experimental protocols for ion channel measurements on customer’s requests
. Assist with general cell culture work at customer sites
. Training of users on-site
. Work in close collaboration with our Technical Service partner in China
. Take responsibility for coordination and assistance of technical and Application Support for our Chinese customers.
. Participation in relevant ion channel meetings and conferences as the Sophion representative
. Assist in pre-sales customer visits
Approximately 100-150 days of travelling is expected.
Your background
. You hold an MSc or have at least 3 years of experience with theoretical and practical electrophysiology.
. You have experience with cell culture and possess technical skills.
. Experience with automated patch-clamp platforms, safety screening as well as high throughput screening is considered as an advantage.
. You are a service-minded person and a strong communicator that finds it easy to engage in a dialogue.
. Strong scientific understanding, with analytical skills.
. You are able to communicate fluently in English.
. You are enthusiastic, self-driven, and enjoy solving complicated problems.
