Job Description:

• Software development on Cisco’s enterprise switch product.
• C programming in an embedded software environment.
• Diagnostic tests or firmware development on Catalyst 6500 product – requires strong OS skills, router/switch data forwarding background (L2, L3) desired.
• Application design for improved isolation and diagnosis of faults.

Requirements:

• Typically requires MSEE/CS combined with 4-6 years of related experience, or BSEE/CS combined with 6 to 8 yrs related experience.
• Must have strong C programming skills.
• Must have embedded real-time OS/system skills, or Linux or Unix development experience.
• Hi-end networking switch/router SW development experience.
• Strong debugging skills (GDB or register/memory level debugging a plus)
• Must have excellent communication skills and be comfortable interacting with hardware, software, ASIC engineers, and customer support engineers.
• Must speak fluent English.
• Must be comfortable with large-scale team-based SW development and frequent inter-group/company communication.
• Working knowledge of version control system such as CVS or Clearcase.
