Position: Financial Controller

Role Summary:

The key responsibility will be to manage all financial aspects of operations out of the Chinese office, including worldwide drilling operations and rig new-build projects. Apart from this, there will be an interface with the group finance function in respect of budgeting, forecasting, reporting and cash management for the group.


Responsibilities

  • Manage the daily operation of the Finance department
  • Assist the business unit in managing daily operational issues related to finance, internal controls and to meet the objectives set.
  • Perform financial performance analysis and projects review
  • Handle statutory audits and ensure compliance and audit clearance
  • Oversee the full sets of accounts including accounting, controlling and reporting
  • Control costs and drive cost savings initiatives to meet company financial targets and commitments
  • Prepare, monitor and analyse budgets, operational costs and expenses, and project future revenue and expenses
  • Advise management about issues such as resource utilization, tax strategies, and the assumptions underlying budget forecasts
  • Prepare accurate monthly reports and ensure promptly submission
  • Survey operations to ascertain accounting needs and to recommend, develop, or maintain solutions to business and financial problems
  • Minimize all internal audit issues
  • Perform tax planning and review
  • Manage Tax Refund Issues
  • Manage treasury and working capital
  • Co-ordinate the secretarial and legal matters
  • Prepare monthly payrolls
  • Prepare the consolidated yearly budget and quarterly budget review for the assigned business units
  • Review internal controls and implement new procedures if necessary to safeguard company assets and to ensure all business transactions are being recorded in proper manner
  • To ensure timely and quality financial reports being submitted to corporate and compliance of group accounting policies and all external reporting requirements.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience in a corporate finance role
  • Effective communication skills in written English (spoken English will be considered a plus)
  • Industry experience ideally working in Mechanical Industry
  • Good track record of working successfully with International Companies
