Associate Staff Research Engineer: Building Energy Modeling
Job Description:
? Participate in multi-disciplinary teams on projects related to building energy system modeling and simulation.
? Develop innovative modeling methods and solutions to multiple applications including modeling of building envelope, loads and HVAC systems, fault detection of the energy performance, and corrective algorithm optimization and implementation.
? Support technology demonstration of advanced building energy management systems.
? Create new technical and project opportunities through technology leveraging, strategic partnering, and acquisition of external contracts.
Minimum Qualifications Required:
? MS or PhD degree in Mechanical or Thermal Engineering with 3-5 year professional experience.
? In-depth knowledge and experience in building energy system modeling, analysis, simulation and computation (MASC).
? Familiarity with building energy management systems.
? Fluent in English (both written and spoken) and good communication skills. Chinese is desirable but not necessary.
Preferred Candidates will possess the following:
? MS or PhD degree in Mechanical or Thermal Engineering with 5+ year professional experience.
? Field experience with implementation or monitoring of building energy management systems.
? Experience with MATLAB, TRNSYS, EnergyPlus, eQuest and Dymola
? Experience with building energy diagnostics and controls is a plus..
? Self-starter who works well in an international teaming environment, is extremely well-organized and has excellent interpersonal, leadership and communication skills
