Desired Skills & Experience

You must have a Degree, preferably in Engineering and have at least 4 years of relevant hands-on in a saw & assembly dept within a furniture company. You must have a proven track record of success in a management role, leading team with demonstrable experience in manufacturing & engineering principles, techniques and methods. Excellent interpersonal and communications skills are essential and preferably with experience in Six Sigma/Lean Manufacturing is advantageous. You must be bilingual in both English and Chinese.

• Successful track record in production management and production improvement in a Timber manufacturing environment.
• Tertiary Qualifications in an Engineering discipline, preferably in Manufacturing;
• Fluent to communicate in Chinese and English;
• Ability to communicate with senior managers and operators alike (individuals, teams and large groups).
• Ability to promote teamwork:
• Performs analytical problem solving and utilizes structured decision making skills
• An understanding of lean manufacturing principles. Strong Continuous Improvement and Lean Manufacturing experience within a manufacturing environment. A formal qualification in Lean/CI is highly desirable.
• Strong Quality Control experience with experience in reducing costs and waste from this.
• Understanding wood working machinery, CNC routers etc…Understanding various wood, panels, boards & OSB.
• Strong analytical capabilities in order to spot opportunities for savings and improvements within a manufacturing process.

Responsibilities

Focus on maximising production flow through the critical path analysis and eliminate constraints.

1/ Deep awareness of maximising machine and labour efficiency.

2/ Maintain Safety and Quality.

3/ Training / mentoring Supervisors in production management and control.

The role is responsible for driving a dept. of approx 200 headcount in a time and cost effective manner utilising Strong Lean Manufacturing techniques. The role will also have responsibility for coordinating and driving support projects within the operation for both process improvements and product developments.
