Role Synopsis

Industrial Lubricants manufactures and supplies metalworking and high performance lubricants in the equipment manufacturing and industrial maintenance market spaces.
Castrol Industrial ASPAC contains both “grow” and “sustain” countries, who are contributing a major portion of revenue and earnings. Strategically, to win in ASPAC is critical for the sustainable growth of total Industrial Lubricant business.
According to AIME strategy work framework, we will develop 5 year strategies for each of the grow and sustain countries, these strategies will be refreshed every 2 to 3 years.
China is a key growth country in Castrol Industrial having grown from 2008 $5m RCP to 2012 $25m RCP based on 2013 plan.
The Industrial Performance Analyst will report directly to the Industrial Performance Manager China and will support the financial operations of China Industrial, but also support the Industrial AsPac Strategy Manger to collect, analyze, and present the data for the strategy development work. The analyst will be required to interrogate both financial data and business insight in order to support the underpinning of strategy recommendations.
Key Accountabilities
To support monthly financial close activities, loading and reconciling of financial data.
To perform ad-hoc financial analysis as required
To perform and review analysis of product and customer MI, to support performance management
To provide financial discipline and rigour to the generation of models for strategy development work for the AsPac Industrial region.
PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILTY
Ongoing review and monitoring of the monthly closing activities via communicating with KL Accounting Center and business units to ensure the financial result accurately reflecting business performance
Prepare of MI supplementary report based on JDE data and performs data reconciliation before loading to SAP BPC
Assist China Performance manager to monitor the performance of key accounts via collecting key account forecast from Account managers, investigating deviation from PLN/RF
Participate in LBM implementation; responsible for monthly LBM data reconciliation and loading activities
Prepare monthly dept. cash cost spending report and perform actual vs. RF/PLN analysis; investigate significant deviations from RF/PLN and provide timely feedback to dept. heads for cost controlling purpose
Assist China Performance manager in the development and review of annual Plan and RF with China Industrial management team via providing financial analysis and improvement actions
Interact closely with sales operational team and demand manager to provide sales performance analysis; verify rebate calculation and SLOB provision
Collect internal data from different function and combine with market intelligence to create a total picture of the real situation of the business
Analyze data and identify discrepancies or conflicts from the different information source and make necessary amendment
Prepare financial model to project future outcome under both BP accounting principle and strategy study framework
Create simple visual charts to present the data for easy understanding
Essential Education
Bachelor Degree or above
Essential Experience and Job Requirements

Qualified (or part qualified) Accountant (or equivalent) preferable.
Experience working within a multi-national desirable.
Cross team and cross culture communication.
Understand basic business principle on top of financial principle.
Practical experience with BP’s financial reporting processes and an understanding of how BP’s key business processes work desirable.
A proven ability to meet key deadlines with minimum supervision.
Well-developed network, influential and interpersonal skills to gain support, gather and distribute information.
Ability to constructively challenge, and influence by effectively interfacing with staff from all disciplines and Industrial.
Knowledge of JDE, internal controls and process improvement experience are added advantages.
