Our client has a great permanent opportunity for a Supplier Quality Management Manager in Shekou, China. Mandarin speakers only.
Department: Supply Chain Management - Global Sourcing Office
Location: Shekou, China
Position Summary:
Reporting to the Director Global Sourcing, the incumbent in this position will provide direction to Supplier Quality personnel within the Global Sourcing office in accordance with applicable our client policies, category management practices, processes and procedures. He/she ensures that sourcing projects are provided with effective quality assurance, surveillance service, quality program audits, and supplier surveys. He/she formulates local Supply Chain Supplier Quality Management procedures, methods and standards, and assures consistency with client`s quality objectives and provides functional guidance to local Supplier Quality personnel. Regular travel to suppliers in located China and other Asian countries will be required.
Specific Responsibilities:
1. Manages the Global Sourcing Office Supplier Quality function to ensure that quality surveillance activities are planned, coordinated, and implemented in a timely and effective manner. Analyzes the effectiveness and economy of established quality surveillance systems and techniques. Makes improvements when necessary. Provides supplier quality inputs into request for proposals (RFx).
2. Provides direction and management guidance to Supplier Quality Engineers and Inspectors to assure proper application of Supplier Quality policies and procedures.
3. Directs preparation and provision of specialized training necessary to assure that all supplier quality personnel are properly qualified to review suppliers’ material inspection techniques, approve test results and apply the requirements of applicable technical codes standards.
4. Develops and maintains an annual quality assurance and inspection plan.
5. Directs the review and maintenance of Supplier Quality assurance programs. Together with Quality Assurance personnel in the head office reviews technical information regarding suppliers and their quality assurance programs, negotiates with supplier senior management to ensure proper application of effective Quality Assurance programs.
6. Negotiates with outside inspection agencies to provide special and/or supplementary services and manages their work allocation and evaluates their performance.
7. Exercises authority to require correct action by a supplier to repair (or replace) defective work. Extends this authority to Supplier Quality engineers, as needed, to ensure specified quality standards, procedures, and programs.
8. Manage business stakeholder relationships across the organization in order to achieve buy-in and support for global sourcing supplier quality management process.
9. Measure cost of poor quality and actively work with the suppliers and other internal disciplines to create and implement action plans to help reduce the Cost of Poor Quality.
10. Establishes continuous supplier performance improvement plans and provide functional support to suppliers’ management and quality personnel in their further development
11. Provides mentoring and/or day-to-day direction to junior staff.

Department: Supply Chain Management - Global Sourcing Office
Location: Shekou, China
Position Summary:
Reporting to the Director Global Sourcing, the incumbent in this position will provide direction to Supplier Quality personnel within the Global Sourcing office in accordance with applicable our client policies, category management practices, processes and procedures. He/she ensures that sourcing projects are provided with effective quality assurance, surveillance service, quality program audits, and supplier surveys. He/she formulates local Supply Chain Supplier Quality Management procedures, methods and standards, and assures consistency with client`s quality objectives and provides functional guidance to local Supplier Quality personnel. Regular travel to suppliers in located China and other Asian countries will be required.
Specific Responsibilities:
1. Manages the Global Sourcing Office Supplier Quality function to ensure that quality surveillance activities are planned, coordinated, and implemented in a timely and effective manner. Analyzes the effectiveness and economy of established quality surveillance systems and techniques. Makes improvements when necessary. Provides supplier quality inputs into request for proposals (RFx).
