MulvannyG2 Architecture is seeking an experienced Interior Designer to fill a key role in our Shanghai office. If you're passionate about good design and energized by creative solutions, join us in delivering quality architecture for high-profile clients.

The Interior Designer is responsible for the overall design quality, implementation, and delivery of each project. The ideal candidate has 5 or more years of interior design experience in China. Preferred qualities include excellent sketching skills and the ability to design conceptually. Experience working on urban mixed use, retail, and corporate projects is preferred. Candidate must be bilingual in English and Chinese.

§ Understands the process of interior architectural design in all its phases and is able to work with the guidance of a Sr. Designer to develop design concepts, produce documents, source materials and support the team in client presentations.

§ Demonstrates knowledge that extends across company functions.

§ Evaluates and solves problems.

§ Provides designs that meet or exceed the clients’ expectations.

§ Takes responsibility for prompt and effective action to meet or exceed the needs of clients, consultants and contractors.

§ Performs project observation for deficiencies in overall development quality and construction methods and materials.

Teamwork

§ Openly supports all coworkers in meeting team goals.

§ Initiates and/or accepts new assignments and projects.

§ Openly supports continuous improvement and adapts well to change.

§ Possess strong drive, motivation and self-initiative.

§ Supervises design development, code research, cost estimates, construction documents and construction administration.

Project Design/Project Management

§ Demonstrates effective planning and self-direction in carrying out project responsibilities.

§ Contributes to company-wide efforts to control and minimize costs.

§ Organizes, develops and coordinates projects through documentation and administration phases.

§ Participates in project activities relating to client presentations, programming, space planning, design development, production of construction documents, construction administration sourcing materials, finishes and furniture selections.

§ Designs and presents materials/color boards to clients.

§ Promotes the spirit of team cooperation among staff.

§ Coordinates and completes contract documents.
