The Data and Infrastructure Support team at eBay plays the pivotal role in helping the vibrant internal analytics community by providing in-depth knowledge and support on the various Insight and Platform products. We are looking for an experienced individual to serve as a Support Engineer. This is a technical role, requiring previous experience querying data systems, performing research, data analysis and/or supporting Business Intelligence tools.

The Data Analyst will help to answer end users technical inquiries including complex data requests & queries, SQL tuning and analysis. This position will also contribute to expanding our knowledge base content and training to insure that our products and assets are used correctly and to their fullest potential.

• Research and resolve issues related to ad hoc data requests, complex query tuning, Analytics Platform, Insight products and Business Intelligence tools.
• Deliver superior customer service by understanding customer issue or requirement prior to providing recommendations.
• Communicate effectively and concisely; providing timely responses that meet service level expectations.
• Develop a deep understanding of customers' needs and act as an evangelist for recommending best practices.
• Work closely with the lead and liaise with Subject Area Experts and Product Managers to gain expertise in data analysis.
• Use JIRA ticketing system to log, monitor and work through the open cases during business hours.
• Update and develop knowledge base documentation with inputs from technical subject matter experts.

• 2-3 years' work experience as a Product Manager, Data Analyst or a Technical Support role
• Strong SQL Experience (Oracle/Teradata) with exposure to Ad-hoc Reporting and complex queries.
• 1-2 years of programming experience in Java and Java Script or Python, PHP is desired
• SQL tuning skills with knowledge of data modeling and data warehousing processes and concepts.
• Familiarity with Business Intelligence tools like MicroStrategy and Tableau would be a plus.
• Good verbal and written communication in English including writing sound technical documentation.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field and/or experience.
