JOB PURPOSE
The Marketing Director, China is responsible for all facets of product, social, channel, and brand marketing as well as product management, public relations, and social communities. To achieve these objectives, as the case may be, the Marketing Director, China needs to develop, manage, execute, and maintain processes and systems that ensure:
1. Comprehensive industry level marketing strategies and plans to maximize users, user activity, and product and brand exposure;
2. Brand messaging and values are consistently communicated as part of the core value proposition;
3. Social communities and consumer feedback form a critical part of all objectives;
4. Relevant qualitative and quantitative data analysis of both company and competitor products; and
5. Equipping the Territory Director, China with the information needed to maximize users and user activity.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Develop, adapt, localize, and execute user, product, channel, social, and brand marketing campaigns;
2. Develop and implement a public relations strategy, which includes building a database of regional PR contacts;
3. Monitor and maintain all social communities, including the company’s website, weibo, etc.;
4. Ensure regular direct-to-consumer product communication and feedback across all social communities;
5. Communicate all marketing activities to the Territory Director, China and assist in the preparation of marketing materials;
6. Recruit, hire, and manage exceptional human resources;
7. Identify individual and departmental needs;
8. Key driver of individual and group-level motivation and morale;
9. Establish and maintain relationships and communication with other departments;
10. Set-up and implement formal reporting processes as well as regular team meetings;
11. Primary contact for all issues related to the product in China; and
12. Prepare weekly progress reports for the General Manager, Asia-Pacific.
QUALIFICATIONS
1. At least five years experience in a brand marketing or product management role;
2. Proven track record in developing and executing product, channel, and social marketing campaigns;
3. Demonstrated ability to work with media agencies, and manage media buying
4. Strong attention to detail and an ability to cope and work according to deadlines;
5. Organized, driven, and self-motivated with the ability work autonomously;
6. Ability to manage-up, across to peers, and outside the direct management chain;
7. Excellent verbal and written English-language and Chinese-language communication skills; and
8. Superb interpersonal and presentation skills.
