Successful candidate will:
Manage pipeline projects including; engineering work associated with pipelines, meter stations, compressor stations, and pump stations.
Work to include hydraulic modeling, pump and compressor design, engineering and construction specifications, preparation of bid documents, construction oversight, and start-up activities.
Interface effectively with client staff.
Makes decisions independently on project related problems and methods and represents the organization in conferences to resolve important questions and to plan and coordinate work.
Position may be supervisory or non-supervisory.
Responsibilities include:
Representing client as execution engineer located in client office.
Plans, develops, or coordinates an engineering project.
Works effectively with the client and develops longstanding relationships.
Prepares proposals including development of engineering scope of work, budget and schedule.
Supervises, coordinates, and reviews the work of a staff of Engineers, Designers, and Technicians.
Estimates personnel needs and schedules and assigns work to meet completion date. Reviews their progress and evaluates their work.
Coordinates design issues with team and facilitates resolution of interdisciplinary issues.
Provides business development support.
Proposal development including engineering scope of work, budget and schedule.
Document decisions made through all forms of communication with clients and team members.
Manager changes to engineering scope.
Ensure proper closeout of projects, including transmittal of final documentation to client and URS electronic and hard copy filing.
Minimum Requirements:
B.S./B.A. in technical or, demonstrated equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Minimum five years’ experience as a Project Engineer for oil and gas industries, specifically with pipeline, compression or gas processing facilities.
Must have proven leadership ability, communication skills, interpersonal skills and sound judgment.
Must be able to develop strong relationships and accounts with clients.
Work requires communicating, interacting and executing projects directly for and with the client. Position requires application of intensive and diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices in broad areas of assignments and related fields.
Must be willing to locate in client office for an extended period of time.
This position requires successful completion of the URS Project Management Certification program within 6 months of hire. This certification program is a series of learning modules and is available on-line through the URS Learning Management System at no financial cost to the employee.
