Job Posting: Junior Technical Consultant

About the position
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Junior Technical Consultant. Your main responsibilities will be to support customer implementations of Provantis?, with specific focus upon the installation of the software to Instem’s customers.
In the future, the ability to interface and connect the software to a variety of laboratory equipment, including chemistry and haematology analysers will be necessary.
We are looking for a passionate and enthusiastic individual who can demonstrate a logical mind; who exhibits excellent problem solving abilities; and who can demonstrate that they can aspire to our strong company values. Appropriate training will be provided to the successful candidate.

Main Responsibilities
? To provide technical consultancy to customers on installation and configuration of Provantis?
? To provide internal consultancy to improve Instem’s products and services
? To provide assistance to the Help Desk on complex system and product problems.
? Provision of first line support on Oracle and escalation as required to Oracle support services
? Responding to and logging of support calls, via e-mail and telephone
? Provision of advice and assistance relating to products and services
? Correction of problems relating to database definitions or relationships
? Provision of support / advice at customer sites
? To consult with Provantis Clinical Pathology users about their use and needs regarding data collection via clinical pathology analysers/instruments
? To produce instrument interfaces, using Provantis software

Skills/ Experience
? Fluent in English, both written and verbal
? A good awareness of Oracle
? A good awareness of Windows based environments including Windows XP, 7, server 2003/2008
? A good awareness of Citrix
? Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office applications in particular, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
? Preference will be given to candidates with experience of any of the following programming languages:
o .NET / VB.NET
o XML
o Crystal reports (from SAP Business Objects)
o SAS
? Knowledge of RS-232 and interfacing to external devices would be advantageous
? Confident and self-motivated
? Should be a good listener and show empathy with the clients

Qualifications
? You hold a Master’s degree in a technical discipline, preferably including software development
? You should have experience of the installation of Oracle and the use of SQL language

Additional Information
The job holder must be comfortable with travelling within Asia and internationally as this is a requirement of the position.
