GENERAL SUMMARY:

The Sourcing Engineer will help support the projects in the global sourcing areas and will help drive the sourcing strategy for Associated Spring Raymond. This position will interface with all organizational levels, including senior management, in the identification and accomplishment of position objectives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Identifies world-class global supplier base by leading sourcing activities including supplier identification, RFQs, supplier selection, supplier qualification, and on-boarding suppliers.

· Responsible for taking appropriate corrective action with suppliers to ensure their compliance with purchase orders contractual terms. Recommend and undertake necessary corrective actions toward suppliers for poor performance.

· Works with Material Planners/ Buyers Marketing Managers, Sales Managers, Engineering, Quality, and Warehouse personnel to assure timely resolution of purchasing related issues.

· Accountable for managing total cost, pay terms, ensuring supplier performance for fill-rate, delivery, quality, contract compliance and logistics support.

· Complete initial supplier certifications and accompany project teams on supplier certification audits as necessary.

· Assist Global Sourcing team with development of long term supplier agreements and take the lead in Supplier negotiations where appropriate.

· Interpret Engineering drawings and specifications, PPAP along with manufacturing process optimization and quality control.

· Accountable for development of regional sourcing strategy.

· Willing and able to travel.

· Other duties/projects as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Required Education:

· Bachelor’s degree with a focus on supply chain and/or operations preferred.

· Engineering degree and/or experience preferred.

Required Length & Type of Experience:

· Minimum 2 years in strategic global sourcing experience required.

· Minimum 2 years working experience in quality and product Engineering.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

· Strong negotiation and project management skills.

· Strong analytical skills. Need to have the ability to make recommendations based on data analysis.

· Strong PC aptitude in a Windows environment required; specifically Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access, Power Point). Ability to learn other software packages and maintain an awareness of technology advancements.

· Languages: Excellent written and oral communication skills and fluency in English and Mandarin with ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.

· Must demonstrate an ability to work independently and be detail and project oriented.

· Knowledge of global commodity markets and ability to use this information in developing strategies as well as negotiations.

· Strong distribution knowledge a plus

· Ability to learn technical aspects of products quickly, including working knowledge of quality control documentation.
