Reporting Manager:Designer Director

Position Description: Serves as primary project supervisor and manager for Jr. Designers. Develop, prepare and review material prior to management approval on projects. Ensure best practice guidelines are utilized on all projects.

Essential Functions:
· Draw, prepare and review presentation material
· Review and approve design work of the Jr. Designers
· Select fabrics for presentations and reselections
· Select and review furniture and lighting cut/tear sheets
· Finalize material boards for presentations
· Monitor space plans and red line for accuracy and functionality
· Create and monitor visual aids for clients
· Participate in mentoring, recruiting, employee reviews and disciplinary process
· Provide excellent customer service with outside clients and/or client contacts
· Develop and prepare client budget(s)
· Interfaces with US home office to develop and coordinate design standards
· Review cut sheets and quotes book for specification writing
· Create, redline and approve FF&E specifications for projects
· Redline drawings and schedules for accurate content
· Perform other duties as required by management
· Meet with clients if needed to perform presentations and resolve issues

Minimum Job Requirement:
· Requires 8-10 years knowledge of design principles and the ability to interpret design concepts and layouts
· Expert knowledge of multiple design brands standards
· Requires a Bachelor's degree in area of specialty and 8-10 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
· Fluent in English and Chinese (Preferred)
· Expert knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within industry
· 8-10 years Auto CAD experience
· 8-10 years Photo Shop experience
· Requires NCIDQ license
· Expert knowledge of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
· Requires 35% international travel, including over night and extended stay
· Requires 25% China travel, including over night and extended stay

· Quality management-the individual looks for ways to improve and promote quality and demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness
· Judgment-the individual displays willingness to make decisions, exhibits sound and accurate judgment, and makes timely decisions
· Planning/organizing-the individual prioritizes and plans work activities, uses time efficiently and develops realistic action plans
· Safety and security-the individual observes safety and security procedures and uses equipment and materials properly

Supervisory Responsibilities:
· Directly supervises employees and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
· Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Working Conditions:
· Requires extensive use of eyes viewing computer screens and drawings
· Some exposure to loud noise
· Requires ability to lift of up to 15lbs
· Requires walking, bending, sitting, standing reaching and climbing
· Some exposure to climate change
· Requires use of hands
