GE Software Center of Excellence – Overview In August 2011, GE opened a Software Center of Excellence (COE) in the San Francisco Bay Area (San Ramon). The Software COE is in place to drive strategy, brand, growth, scale and acceleration of the GE Software business. In addition to the $3B in software licensing revenue in 2012, GE is also generating an increasing amount of propriety software that is embedded in products that GE manufactures. The goals of the Software COE is to 1) grow software revenue 15% Year over Year; 2) Ensure services revenues are increasingly more productive; 3) Identify new ‘white space’ opportunities. GE’s objective is to leverage software as a competitive advantage and enable customers across all lines of business to utilize GE products and solutions through the transformation from ‘analog to digital’. GE in China – Overview GE started doing business in China as early as 1906 and was considered one of the most active foreign companies in the country at the time. All of GE’s businesses have set up operations and established over 50 legal entities, including wholly-owned companies, JVs and R&D center in China with more than 18,000 employees. The industrial revenue of GE in China is USD 5.9 billion in 2012. GE has been actively involved in many aspects of China’s latest infrastructure boom from Aviation, Transportation, Energy and Healthcare. In November 2010, GE announced its plans to invest more than $2 billion in China in three years, in R&D, innovation and create new local partnerships, which GE has fulfilled by end of 2012. We are extending the efforts we started and headquartered in San Ramon and creating a regional software center hub in china. This will bring the efforts we began to drive innovation and raid software development to china. This will extend the investment we have organically grown of over 300 software professionals in GE China. We will bring in a Software leader for this hub which will be centered in shanghai who will own the industrial internet here and coordinate activities. In china for china will include efforts around the industrial internet where we see major opportunity in china over the next decade beginning with aviation and healthcare.

Role Summary/Purpose

Essential Responsibilities
The China Software & Analytics COE Leader owns the industrial internet strategy and coordinates activities in China. This role is responsible for working across all product teams and other functions in all GE businesses to shape and define the vision and strategy for industrial internet programs in China, beginning with aviation and healthcare businesses. The China Software & Analytics COE Leader will be called upon to represent GE China regularly and speak at corporate, businesses and external conferences and symposia as a recognized industry functional expert. Responsibilities include: • Collaborate, develop and drive the overall GE China software vision and strategy • Provide linkage for GE China businesses to the leadership and strategy of the GE Software COE in San Ramon, CA • Coordinate and introduce the software platforms being developed by the Software COE to the China market • Deep understanding of local customers’ requirements and feedback to businesses and the Software COE for localized products • Identify new commercial opportunities in the China region • Influence communications and buy-in of the software strategy from all levels of GE China businesses, Software COE leadership, Business CTOs and Product Teams • Build software capabilities in the hub to support the portfolio of commercial programs in China

Qualifications/Requirements
• MBA, MS or PHD in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Computer Sciences or related field with experience in software development or software product management• 10 years of progressive experience in a commercial or engineering leadership capacity and strong experience based in product and systems software coupled with proven business acumen• Demonstrated ability to make independent decisions and successfully manage conflicting priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Responsive and willing to take ownership of challenging and potentially unpopular issues and drive solutions• Global project or functional experience preferred• Proven communication, coaching and interpersonal skills at all levels of the organization• Influential leader able to partner, energize and inspire• Demonstrated self-starter, result oriented and able to work on multiple projects simultaneously, balancing resources, timing and quality of outcomes
