Our client is a premier global specialty chemicals and materials company with annual sales at approximately USD2billion. They have 6,000 employees and operate in nearly 40 countries. To support their growth plans in PRC, they are seeking dynamic and experienced individuals to join their Shanghai Head Office --
Job Duties:
- Provide product and application expertise, training and technical support to Company’s customers.
- Support includes product knowledge and ability to make equipment and material handling recommendations to customers and engineers.
- Support customer qualification of new and modified products. Provide technical training and support to China Sales organization. Support Asia Pacific R&D product and application development activity.
- Demonstrate value of products and technical leadership to our customers and brand owners. Establish Copmany as the preferred supplier.
Main Responsibilities:
Customer support/training:
1) Travel in the field, consulting with customers.
2) Conduct customer application training seminars
3) Provide equipment recommendations and engineering modifications to customers on proper handling and application of products.
4) Support commercialization of new/modified products
5) Support customer innovation/packaging changes
6) Trouble shoots application issues with products on customers’ line.
7) Conduct in-depth analysis of customer production/quality and provide analysis and recommendations to customers.
8) Prepare and conduct customer trials for evaluation of products.
--- Understands customer scale up protocols and tools available to support them
--- Match products with customer application conditions
--- Make recommendation/suggestions to customers for application best practices
Support Product Management/Application Development/PRISM/OpTech
1) Evaluate application performance of new products/product modifications.
2) Ensure “voice of customer” is well understood by PRISM team. Take active role in finding “Alpha” customers and supporting trials and joint testing for new products
3) Provide input to R and D, to optimize existing products, develop new products.
4) Provide feedback from customer trials to MARTECH and PRISM
Technical Expertise :
1) Support/train Sales organization
2) Provide recommendation on equipment set up/ expansions, bulk handling systems, application conditions
3) Present papers at Technical seminars, highlighting merits of products
Interacting with Product Stewardship, Supply Chain and Manufacturing
1) Ensure all trials adhere to Company’s standards of product stewardship, and EH&S regulations.
2) Assist manufacturing and supply chain with process development/ scale up, productivity efforts (including RM depletions).
Qualifications:
1. Engineering degree, mechanical engineering preferred.
2. Good mechanical skills
3. Comfortable interacting with customers and with all levels of the customer organization (mechanics to plant manager). Flexible and adjustable to customers’ needs, perseverance, influence/ and persuasion.
4. Good communication and presentation skills
5. General knowledge of chemistry and statistics desirable. Six Sigma experience desired
6. Comfortable as self starter and able to work independently and work as part of a team
7. Good organizational and analytical skills.
