Leading Trading Company Luxury Motor Business


Job purpose:


- Drive business achievement, optimize the financial return and long term business sustainability by

· Building and maintaining a sound and consistent financial accounting and reporting system according to the Division’s business direction and changes in business focus

· Guiding the finance managers in all operation centers to deliver quality and timely financial and management reporting, and financial planning in accordance with the statutory and regulatory requirement and the Group’s finance and accounts guidelines

· Providing business performance analyses and exercising budgetary control

· developing financial models and in-depth analysis to facilitate the Division’s informed and strategic management decisions

· Ensuring optimal cash flow management and utilization of banking facilities, and offering value-added solutions in those regards

· Identifying, measuring and reporting potential risks, internal control and compliance issues, challenging the Division where control principles and accounting standards might be compromised, and offering solutions from both business and operational perspectives

· Building a competent finance and accounts team with necessary skills, knowledge and competence to provide excellent internal customer service


Job Duties:

- Business

· Take part in the formulation and execution of financial management strategies and accounting operation with reference to external financial market situation to help achieve the Division’s target financial goals

· Recognize the potential impact of the changing market, industry, system and technological environment on the business, and draw management attention to significant issues

· Provide key business perspectives and contribute alternative scenarios and outcomes in the Division’s business decision making process

· Seek to understand proactively the motor business cycle and operation such as demand projection, shipment, service scope and business challenge in order to contribute to the Division’s business performance

· Evaluate the potential consequences, risks, costs and benefits of business proposals and options using robust financial models, technical expertise and an understanding of key business drivers

· Communicate and explain the financial objectives approved by the Group to all general managers and finance managers of the operation centres, and motivate the latter to drive for results

- Financial Accounting

· Implement and maintain a sound financial accounting system, and guide all finance managers of the operation centers to implement it and comply with the related policies and procedures fully and consistently

· Integrate the Division’s financial accounting and reporting system with the Group’s system to ensure proper communication of financial information across the Group

· Ensure that the finance and accounting activities are consistent amongst all operation centers to best support the Division’s strategic and business goals

· Consolidate all accounting data inputs from all operation centers, validate the data, generate financial reports, take prompt action to correct any technical errors and ensure complete data integrity

· Manage and control operating costs according to the approved budget, internal Limit of Authority and financial control measures

· Formulate internal resources plan to complete annual statutory audit programmers for all operation centers

· Provide financial accounting support to business initiatives in respect of invoicing, price adjustment, stock control, accounting record update, etc.

- Management Accounting

· Develop budget template tailored for the Division’s budgetary purposes and ensure proper applications by all operation centers

· Exercise budgetary control in support of the Division’s business objectives, rationalize the budget assumptions, reach consensus with the Group for the budget planning

· Find out reasons for budget variance taking into account of sales cycle, sales forecast, detailed logistic arrangements, labor cost, operational efficiency, work schedule etc

· Synthesize and analyze data to facilitate and execute the Division’s business decisions, measure and explain business performance, forecast trends and possibilities and provide value-added solutions not just based on facts, but from a strategic business angle

· Conduct financial analysis to support the Division’s decision on investments, acquisitions and related initiatives

· Present key and complete financial and business performance of different product lines, locations and services timely

· Make recommendations to improve the business results and facilitate informed management decisions, strategic planning and performance evaluations

- Treasury and Banking

· Present financial models, conduct detailed calculation on the assumption data, formulate bases of measurement to guide cash flow preparation and cash/loan decisions

· Prepare yearly funding and bank facilities requirements to the Group Finance & Accounts to support the business requirements

· Provide timely update of the Group’s cash position to facilitate the management’s understanding of funding positions and necessary funding arrangements, and its decision on borrowing/capital and fx decisions

· Keep track of the motor demand projection, shipment and payment schedules in different operation centres and make necessary funding arrangements

· Effect the money drawdown and manage cash flow according to the Limit of Authority and internal operating procedures

· Facilitate the annual credit review conducted by banks in collaboration with Group Finance & Accounts

· Identify appropriate banking products that meet the Division’s financial needs, consult and recommend to the Group Finance & Accounts banking facilities and/or products to protect the Division’s interest

- Tax

· Establish and maintain a tax-efficient and compliant structure for the Division

· Update all the finance managers of the operation centres of any changes in the tax regulations


Requirements:

· About 7-10 years experience in accounting & finance, team leading experience, working experience in Big 4 & MNC is preferable

· Degree holder in Accounting or Finance

· Good command of both written and spoken in English and Chinese

· Good communication, leadership, problem solving and analytical skills

· Professional Qualifications in Accounting Practice such as: CPA, ACCA, CIMA

· About 7-10 years experience in accounting & finance, team leading experience, working experience in Big 4 & MNC is preferable

· Working Knowledge on Oracle/ SSAP /DMS is preferable
