SUMMARY OF JOB:
· Owner for Rack and PDU Product, response for overall technical/Quality issues from NPI, manufacturing, and marketing. final approver for any product Engineering change. Resolving any product design issues raised by service engineer from field.
· Owner of overall project quality, participate in project as PQL(project quality
Leader) responsible for related deliverables and activities according to PMP
requirements.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Continuous Engineering
· Participate in the investigation and resolution of issues that negatively affect the quality, performance, and reliability of Rack/PDU product in a manufacturing environment from a mechanical and electrical standpoint.
· Responsible for corrective actions to improve product design and/or reduce product and production costs.
· Review Factory quality data for better tracking production quality
· Facing customer for field issues, sum the defects in fields, and complete/review the final quality report for field defects
· Training service engineer to deal with the technical issues happened in Customer side
· Final approver for any engineering change requested by other function.
· Modify product design to improving quality by working with Design engineer
· Train factory person for product debug

SECONDARY FUNCTIONS:
Project Quality:
· Act as project quality leader closely involving in new product development to secure project meet each gate criteria and finally meeting project quality target and customer satisfaction.
· Lead D-FMEA, quality goal definition, project gate review, monitoring product verification /validation results, and Industrialization quality status.
· Support, coach the team on methods and quality tools needed to reach Robustness Design and Quality targets
· Be involved in customers' interviews &visit
· Alert project team or escalate to high level when decisions are not in line with customer satisfaction;

EXPERIENCE - MINIMUM REQUIRED:
5+ years experience in design and support of electromechanical product or related fields, or an Associate's degree in Technology/Applied Science and at least 1 to 2 years
2+ years service working experience in Electric Power Product Manufacturer.
3+ years of working experience in Quality function for new product design.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS 1 - REQUIRED:
· Strongly Understanding of Sheet metal design and manufactory process.
· Strongly knowledge on Electrical/Electronic Power & Power Switch product principles,and Electric/Electronic Components.
· Expert using FMEA to resolving product issue; Strong 7-step skills
· Strongly knowledge and expert on 6Sigma tools application on products,Green Belt is a must, Black Belt is preferred.
· Strongly ability on mechanical /electric/electronic schemetic analysis
· Familiar with Electrical/Electronic Power & Power Switch product test spec
· Strongly knowledge of Power product quality concept
· Familiar with UL,VDE,IEC,CCC compliance approval requirement for power product
· Very good communication skills.
· Proven ability to work under minimal supervision.
· Fluent Oral English skill, excellent written and verbal communication skills.

As a core R&D group under the Schneider Electric IT Business, Shanghai R&D center is working on the new product development of Surge-Protection Power, Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS), Precision Cooling Solution, Racks & Accessories, and Power Distribution Units.

Shanghai R&D Center ------ HBN
·Specialize in surge and line conditioner technologies.
·Build expertise in embedded systems and UPS technology starting with derivative projects starting in 2009.
·With UPS experience, build China customer expertise for Home segment projects.
Charter
To design, develop and bring to market solutions for HBN customers using APC's mature solution concept prioritization, research and PMP methods. The solutions will be made of robust subsystems that can be easily reused in other HBN products. Whenever possible, and within product cost and time to market program constraints, trade-offs shall be made in favor of reliability, modularity and scalability/ extensitibility.
We will leverage our location to best integrate product solution architecture with China suppliers of surge protector and components.
We will leverage our location near manufacturing to best utilize the resources that achieve our quality, cost and time to market objectives.
Shanghai R&D Center ------ R&C
·Lead the market World Wide, with Best in Class Rack & Power distribution, Cooling solution & related Service for Data Center, Industry & Building Environments.
·Pursue a Clear Leader Strategy in Racks & Accessories, Power Distribution Units and Service
·Maintain Challenger Strategy in Cooling with pushing highly innovative Solutions and targeting top of mind IT Decision maker issues
Primary Mission
Create profitable product solutions in support of PMP Product Roadmap initiatives and create value for our Customers worldwide.
Key Accountabilities
·New product design creativity and implementation excellence.
·Innovate through technology.
·Develop PMP capability on all product families.
·Initiate and support In-Region vendor selection/development for technical product applications.
·Support Manufacturing Operations as In-region product/process technical resource.
·Assist Factory Operations in product trouble-shooting and theory of operations training.
·Support PMP sourcing (initial & second source) and Value Engineering initiatives on technical applications.
·Facilitate In-region compliance approvals to support Zone Sales initiatives.
·Support Zone as In-region product expert.

·The Shanghai R&D Center will use Engineering Administration resources from IT Business in US to support Oracle and Notes data entry; and Patent and Environmental consulting and administration. Sharing of knowledge and skill between Shanghai and all engineering groups in all locations is required to be successful.
