Purpose


· To actively contribute to the profitability, growth and return on assets by providing a high quality of service which satisfies the needs and expectations of Exego

· Work with business units to identify opportunities for procurement gains, and to quantify these for inclusion in the Procurement sourcing pipeline.

· Assist Purchasing Manager by focusing on strategic initiatives which include: low cost country sourcing, Supplier improvement programs, make / buy studies, supplier negotiations and sourcing.

Qualifications / Experience:



· Bachelor Degree in Mechanical, Electronics or Automotive Engineering; Technical Background is a must.

· Min. 5 years' sourcing / purchasing experience in the automotive field for multinational companies, aftermarket is preferred;

· Strong knowledge of Quality Management, such as TS 16494, VDA 6.1, Factory Audit and comprehensive understanding of Auto parts, especially Chassis, Engine Management and Auto Electrics.

· Strong comprehensive commercial disciplines with knowledge and experience in Purchasing, Manufacturing, Merchandising.

· Experience in multiple disciplines of sourcing activities at a domestic and international level.

· Financial reporting, Cost control, Budgeting

Basic functions - Primary purpose of the position.


To provide procurement gains, build long term supplier relationships, identification of new sources of supply to maximize Exego group's leverage. This is to be accomplished in the following way:



· Develop procurement sourcing opportunities in conjunction with the Procurement Manager. The plans must be developed in accordance with company guidelines and be consistent with corporate objectives. These plans will be developed with input from suppliers, management and feedback from Merchandise and Category managers.

· Negotiate the best available terms and conditions including pricing, rebates and payment terms for the acquisition of products through approved Suppliers.

· Responsible for co-ordinating sourcing activities in high value, complex or specific categories which generate business growth or high customer satisfaction levels for Exego.

· Lead key stakeholder and Category team meetings.

· Support supplier recovery programs and critical sourcing/re-sourcing to meet Exego's objectives.

· Seek and assess qualified alternative sources of supply.

· Maximize material performance opportunities and structural cost reduction for Exego through domestic and global sourcing leverage.

· Develop and meet annual KPI's which include, cost saving, supplier rationalization and increasing imports.

· Communicate sourcing recommendations/decisions within Exego.

· Lead, manage and implement Team activities and sourcing strategies for Exego.


Key Responsibilities - Duties to be performed.


· Develop domestic & import sourcing strategies for Exego which lead to higher business growth and or higher customer satisfaction.

· Drive procurement gains and import program initiatives.

· Liaise with and support procurement counterparts.

· Provide analytical support where required.

· Support Exego activities within the group where required.

· Maintain and drive procurement performance plans and reductions.

· Manage, monitor and develop sourcing pipelines and activities

· Effective management of supplier relationships.

· Involvement in special and other assignments

· Ensure all activities are within guidelines contained in Trade Practice Legislation and related Chinese Legal Regulations.

· Develop new suppliers, including low cost country sourcing.

· Develop, review and initiate Exego's sourcing pipelines and conduct benchmarking activities.

· Attend trade shows (when required) with the aim of finding suppliers and products.

· Provide trip reports and supplier meeting reports to Procurement Manager, and appropriate Merchandise managers throughout the group.

· Ensure quality policy initiatives are achieved.

· Work closely with category Managers to implement category and sourcing plans.

· Negotiate price variations in accordance with policy

· Lead sourcing RFP negotiations.

· Factory visits / audits, potential supplier's technical visit, using known standards (ISO 9001, TS 16494, VDA 6.3 etc) to conduct potential supplier's quality system and manufacturing process, rate the suppliers and make recommendations on non-conformities.

· New product resign ability together with Exego Technical team and suppliers, able to understand the requests from Category manages and communicate very clearly to suppliers

· Can fully understand "Summary of Requirements"
· Have knowledge of Standards, such as AS/NZS Standards, ANZI Standards, etc.

· Work closely with QA team to identify the Product Standard, test Standard for some critical / safety programs' offshore sourcing.

The objective of Shanghai Exego sourcing office is to work directly and closely with manufacturers and suppliers of automotive parts and accessories to expedite sourcing studies, fast track sourcing opportunities, provide effective communication between Exego Group and its suppliers and assist with the resolution of problems in 'real time'.
