JOB SUMMARY
The Associate Business Analyst (ABA) for Wolters Kluwer FS Risk & Compliance has primary responsibility for translating business requirements into functional specifications to be used by software developers for simpler reports. Additionally they assist the BA and DE in completing the related tasks, like report development and implementing functional analysis using various proprietary tools.
- Interacting with the Domain Expert/BA and clearly understand the reporting requirements,
- Developing the report in proprietary report development tool,
- Creating granular test data based on defined test scenarios.
- Testing the reports from a functional point of view.
- Creating detailed documentation pertaining to their job areas.
- Actively involved in UAT phase and resolving customer issues post implementation.
Typically, BAs work in a fast paced environment and play a key role in building the software products/applications. The Associate BA helps in the whole process.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Interacting with the Domain Expert /BA and clearly understand the reporting requirements. The ABA is expected to liaise with the domain expert/ BA and comprehend the precise reporting requirements, high level analysis as done by the domain expert/BA and understand the broad design of the application. He/she shall clarify any doubts from the domain expert/BA before proceeding with the further stages of product development.
- Developing the report in proprietary report development tool, Post review and finalization of functional specification document the ABA shall proceed to develop the report in the tool starting with report layout, framing the functional specifications as per the format understood by the tool. He/ She are expected to be proficient in this tool and also the MS Office Suite to successfully perform his/ her duties.
- Creating granular test data, The ABA shall write detailed test scenarios report wise clearly stating the objective of the test and the expected output covering each of the items in the report. He/ She shall then proceed to create the item-wise test data for such reports. The ABA shall prepare a comprehensive document detailing the above which shall enable other stakeholders to clearly comprehend the scenarios and the accompanying test data.
- Testing the reports from a functional point of view, Post creation of test scenarios and test data the ABA shall test the reports by simulating a client end run of the software/application. He shall compare the expected output and actual output and account for differences in an elaborate and item-wise manner. The ABA shall test the product for cent per cent functional accuracy. He/ She shall initiate changes in product i.e. functional specifications, decision table changes etc after due concurrence from the applicable stakeholders. He shall liaise with technical team to iron out functional errors arising due to technical issues. After completion of this phase the BA shall document the findings of the testing in a functional test report and share it with relevant stakeholders.
- Creating detailed documentation pertaining to their job areas, The ABA shall prepare end user documents such as interfacing guide, dictionaries, release notes, testing documents etc to ensure optimum customer satisfaction and compliance with company standards. The ABA may be required by his/ her supervisor to assist in preparing any other documentation as required by stakeholders from time to time
- Actively involved in UAT phase and resolving customer issues post implementation, The ABA shall be involved in the user acceptance testing of the product and provide clarifications/solutions as required by the customer. Post successful implementation of the product the ABA shall provide maintenance support from a functional point of view and ensure continued success of the product.
- Other responsibilities, The ABA shall engaged in formal and informal training; participate in self-directed learning; study product Knowledge Acquisition documents; maintain knowledge of industry standards, methodologies, processes, and best practices; establish and maintain competence in current and planned versions of products; work with actual product to establish and maintain competence in demonstrating, using, troubleshooting, and issue resolution; learn about the various service offerings available; learning the standard technical project plan and process and design standards and procedures; and understanding the use of industry tools and technology and their impact on project goals.
- Representing Wolters Kluwer by developing and maintaining comprehensive knowledge of Wolters Kluwer products, industry and technical trends, and general business and financial acumen through various sources and initiative; communicating with customers in a compelling and articulate manner in both verbal and written conversations and presentations; behaving in ways that demonstrate corporate core values and culture; developing professional and positive relationships with customers and colleagues; and maintaining a reputation of competence, integrity and professionalism.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Minimum: Bachelor’s Degree in Economics/Accounting/Banking.
Experience, Knowledge and Tools
Minimum Experience: 3 years’ experience in a Bank/ FI/IT firm including:
- Background in Banking products & operations at root level.
- Candidate must display strong analytical skills and be responsible, methodical and organized.
- Should be of autonomous bent and a self-learner, assertive and able to make expert decisions based on personal judgment.
- Excellent communication (oral & written) and interpersonal skills.
- Working in a dynamic, fast paced environment under time-sensitive deadlines.
- Managing multiple tasks at one time.
- Delivering results on time.
- Working well independently with minimal supervision while also functioning as an integral part of a team.
Preferred Experience / Knowledge/Education :
- MBA in finance and banking.
- Experience in regulatory reporting domain, risk management, treasury or any other role which requires high level of analytical aptitude with either Bank/ Regulator.
- Expert knowledge of Banking, advanced accounting and financial instruments.
Desirable knowledge of Tools:
Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

- Flexibility to travel, if required
