Operations Manager

Location: Wuxi

Reporting directly to: The management team of 3 (2 Western expatriates and 1 Chinese)

Major Duties & Responsibilities

· Organization and leading of plant construction projects within the Siempelkamp own manufacture

· Responsible for the project′s deadlines

· Manage team members in an effective way, and develop competencies

· Responsible for the implementation of the manufacturing in the framework of the relevant quality standard

· Continuation of the quality specification

· Observing the preset budget

· Reporting to the parent company

· Putting guidelines from the parent company to practice

· Cost reduction regarding small series

· Suggestions regarding “make or buy” decisions

· Realization of quality audits

· Supplier qualification

· Handle quality issues in a timely manner

· Strive to reduce and control material levels

Qualifications

· Bachelor degree in Engineering (Education abroad is considered an advantage)

· Strong communication skills in English, Mandarin. Knowledge of German would be a plus

· 7+ years of experience within project based production, 5+ of which in a management position

· Experience managing production/operations for a mechanical/electrical engineering company

· Knowledge of the larger machinery or plant construction industry

· Solid leadership skills in managing a work force

· Having led/been part of a turnaround project previously

· Familiar with western management style and company culture, work experience from a German company is an advantage

· Identifies with European values

· Efficient communicator in a matrix organization

· Proactive in problem-solving

· Direct and assertive

· Some travel will be needed
