POSITION OVERVIEW
Supports the development of purchasing strategies and oversee the purchasing team in their daily activities of sourcing suppliers, purchasing products, equipment, and services that meet or exceed the expectations of the organization considering price, quality, and delivery.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
1. Purchase goods, materials, and services that meet or exceed the cost, quality, and delivery targets.
2. Request and evaluate supplier quotations.
3. Perform cost analysis on good purchased through should cost, competitive bid, and/or cost breakdown analysis.
4. Generate purchase orders that comply with company requirements.
5. Communicate and work to mitigate any supply problems which may impact our business operations.
6. Act as the interface between suppliers and other departments at Gentex.
7. Identify risks and drive solutions to mitigate risks and escalate when needed.
8. Monitor market trends and drive favorable actions for Gentex.
9. Implement cost reductions to ensure favorable Purchase Price Variance (PPV) targets are achieved.
10. Support supplier relationships and ensure two-way professional relationships exist.
11. Monitor supplier performance and provide direct feedback to suppliers through an integrated supplier score card.
12. Identify and assess new suppliers that can meet the cost, quality, and delivery expectations for Gentex.
13. Support the commodity specific cross functional teams consisting of purchasing, supplier quality, materials, and engineering.
14. Develop and execute commodity specific short- and long-term strategies.
15. Identify and develop partnerships with reliable suppliers.
16. Conduct supplier business reviews to review performance metrics and drive improvement actions.
17. Other duties as assigned.

11. Finance and accounting knowledge and/or experience.
12. Strong negotiation and critical thinking skills.
13. Develop commodity specific long-term strategic plans for the commodity team.
14. Maintain high level of confidentiality, honesty and integrity with respect to company matters.

WHAT TO BRING
1. Bachelor’s degree.
2. 7 - 15 years professional experience.
3. 5 - 10 years of purchasing experience.
4. Leadership skills and experience.
5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
6. English fluent, and other language is a plus.
7. 3 - 5 years of experience purchasing from international suppliers.
8. Deep knowledge of supply chain management systems.

WHAT WILL HELP
