Key Performance Area:  

  

Provide regional support in developing and driving the execution of the Compliance program streams in scope of responsibility for China in the domains of Risk& Opportunity areas and programs.

  

This means enabling the Sales Area(s) to mitigate risks by implementing effectively and adequately Sandvik Group and SMR specific procedures to maintain compliance with global and local laws and regulations by:

  

• Setting up a yearly Compliance delivery plan (e.g based on SMR Compliance directions, the Compliance Houses, additional local insights such as change in regulation, risk indicators such as Internal Audit findings, Internal Control findings).
• Engaging relevant stakeholders to anchor the plan and ensure adequate resource allocation.
• Following-up on plan delivery as per agreed timelines, including reporting to senior management on key defined KPIs.
• Working cross functionally in supporting the development of corrective actions, incentives and disciplinary measures.
• Ad hoc: Executing transactional activities as per the yearly delivery plan (e.g sourcing information for Speak-up investigations, CI/AI screening back-up resource, etc.).

  

 

  

ON GOING SUPPORT:

  

• Advising management on compliance related risks & opportunities (e.g translating new/change in regulations or Sandvik procedures/policies into risk & opportunity assessment relevant for the country/region in charge, including suggested solutions to mitigate risks when possible). This includes staying up to date on regulatory changes in country/countries in charge.
• Placing demands on business process owners to integrate Compliance requirements into ways of working including processes and systems. Supporting them in the implementation of those requirements (e.g subject matter expertise, train the trainer, etc.)
• Ensuring effective coordination and transparent flow of information with the relevant stakeholders and Compliance networks (e.g Data Privacy Leads, Trade Compliance Coordinators).
• Acting as an escalation point and a gatekeeper to safeguard Sandvik core Fair Play value and more broadly Sandvik Codes of Conduct (employee/supplier). 
• Ensuring key compliance records are well-organized and stored, e.g. that policies and procedures are stored adequately, easily accessible and monitoring findings and reports are maintained.
• Assisting with legal support work and developing a back-up for the current SMR Legal Counsel China.

  

 

  

Your Profile:

  

• Minimum bachelor’s degree in law, with preferably a Masters, JD or applicable professional certifications, such as PRC Bar, Certified Chartered/Public Accountant, Certified Internal Auditor, etc.

• Minimum 5-7 years business experience in compliance/legal positions, including at least 5 years working in or directly with international operating units.

• Good understanding of SMR business model

• Knowledge of ABC laws and regulations

• Knowledge of Competition Law and Trade Compliance matters

• High level of integrity, ability to influence management

• Sound training experience including developing material and providing trainings

• Exceptional written and verbal communications skills

• Basic financial understanding

• Precise and accurate working style

• Ability to frequent travel on an international basis

• Strong project management skills with an ability to work in a collaborative, cross-functional environment.

• Business focused and process orientation, strong analytic capability including the ability to identify root causes of issues and corrective actions. 

• Spoken languages: Mandarin/ English fluent.  Additional languages valued.
